Xmas casual "shift co-ordinators"-WTF

Post by xmasreindeer »

What is all this business Angard have come up with for 'shift co-ordinators' about?

First, take a casual who has not been in a mail centre before.

Second, check they have had no previous managerial experience.

Third, pay them 50p per hour more than the rest of us unfortunate individuals who were unlucky enough to get a casual job this year.

Fourth, make sure they have no man-management skills or social skills.

Fifth, give them ideas above their position.

Surely it is up to the supervisors of Royal Mail to sort out our timesheets and make sure we have the allocated breaks and have all signed in-after all, they have been doing that all year with their own staff (probably)

In our mail centre, the shift co-ordinator is the laziest, most workshy casual I have met in a long time, who fits the criteria above perfectly.
Thinking of it, maybe they are set to become Angards next management!!!

TBH that just sounds like the rest of RM, management who haven't got a clue and who make things worse by their attitude.

I was asked to be a Shift Co-ordinator and quite frankly if anyone says do you want extra money I'm sure 99% would say yes. One of the duties is making sureyour team have safety footwear on, in reality this would mean sending 50% of them home! Then again this seems to get overlooked for the regulars staff.
