Previous years as casual for Royal Mail were far far better, pay was higher, and we received the statement before the money arrived at the bank, payroll staff were courteous and responsive, and I never had to go through this process with them, furthermore they were confident enough to give their names at the start of the call.
I'm appalled with whats happening with the casuals pay this year. Royal Mail (HR Services) have worked really hard to get the casuals pay right over the years and it has all been messed up by Angard this year. Although it's not really got anything to do with us there were a lot of annoyed people in our office when we found out that the pay has been messed up.
I hope they lose their contract for next year. This is what happens when major parts of the business get outsourced.

How can they lose the contract NB?...and it's not really outsourcing is it?
Angard are Royal Mail and Reed are represented on Angard's board.
As incestuous employment relationships go...this one is up there with the worst.
I've just read that RM own Angard, I never knew that. I'm disgusted. I really don't understand why they would mess about with such a crucial part of our business. How much money a saved by doing this?
this is the 2nd week in a row where i havenot got paid. the work i did 2 weeks ago, i should have got paid for last week, i got paid for today instead of last week. the work i did last week, i havenot been paid for. phoning angard is a nightmare. when i pressed option 2, i was told that the lines are so busy that they cannot take my call. tried a few times throughout the day, and got the same answer. emailed them today so i will see if i get a response (i did last time). angard do know that it is an offence to not pay somebody money they are owed, and that you can demand you money is paid to you by petty cash donot they
What you have to look at Numpty is casuals are 'reportedly' being used in the Angard offices processing pay ect,you know what could be next dont you?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thanx pal they are not daft are they!! ive worked 2 weeks and not received any payslip or pay!! FumIng
this thread is getting me worried, has anybody been paid? im betting it will be even more impossible to contact Angard outside of 9 to 5, which are my shift hours, to sort it out.
Stupid question, but I started Monday 5th, so when should I have the money in my account, and how many days pay that be, ive worked Monday - Friday?
I wish to know what to expect, I suspect the pay day for this week is Friday 16th.
Only one casual at my depo that i knew off had got paid and that was £9 lol. We was told that Angard didn't anticipate the amount of people they had to register to the system and we will be paid friday night just gone, does money even go into yout bank account on a sat? Why would you wait till the day you pay people to register them to the system and how can you not know how many people you have employed, what a load of ****
Was told today that our bank details have all been lost. Only one person got paid on my shift too, for two days...
We've been told by the Royal Mail staff to phone up Angard Staffing to sort it out... Not like we haven't been trying! Now they'll be closed for the weekend. Great, :S
My son was paid £70 last week and hasn't been paid at all this week!!
They can't say they haven't got his details as he was paid something last week.
He was told that the time sheets weren't sent in on time or the hours were wrong....... Blaming RM staff.
As you can imagine the RM staff at Sheffield were not too pleased to be blamed for the Angard staff c@&k up!
What sort of Mickey Mouse outfit is this. How can you take on thousands of staff without the systems/processes to deal with payroll for gods sake? People go out to work for the MONEY - and to not be paid for your labours is a total bl@@dy insult.
Only 1 of the nightshift workers who started as Christmas casuals at East London on 28 November got paid yesterday. That's a lot of very angry people. Justifiably angry.
I know little about the law but it looks to me like Angard is committing fraud by posing as an employment agency when it demonstrably does not have either the competence or desire to fulfil their part of the contract by paying their employees. This reflects very badly on the Royal Mail and Reedglobal, whose shareholders will be very unhappy about having a rogue element under their wing when this hits the news.
I was speaking to a permanent member of staff yesterday who told me that before Royal Mail took him on months ago he was also working for this shower of s**t. He went 5 weeks without being paid and rm only gave him his contract because they were disgusted with the way this guy was being treated and didn't want to lose him.
Now if they can go 5 weeks in the middle of the year without paying someone, when casual staffing levels were sod all like they are now, then I'm not holding out much hope of being paid this side of Christmas.
Also I was one of the ones that actually got through to payroll yesterday and I was assured that my money would be in the bank by midnight last night. I was then told during my shift off one of the line managers that it was in hand and everyone would be paid 60% of their wages by midnight with the remainder being paid next week. Well that time has been and gone and still nothing.
