I have read in this forum that Angard staff,myself included,have received an email from a journalist from the Guardian newspaper.What we really need is a solicitor,who will undertake a multiple application of a CCJ against Angard,for the staff that have not been paid.It will not look very nice for Angard to have 5,10,15 or many more thousand CCJ's applied against them.

Its very easy and free to just apply online to an Employment tribunal and raise an ET1 for "unlawful deduction of wages" nothing to do with a CCJ or you can file a money claim online, but you will have to pay a fee on a silding scale, ie £35 fee for around £500 claimed as owing. You can add the fee on to the total amount claimed though.

good idea, some more info re applying for the info:-

Subject access request (Data Protection Act)
Under the Data Protection Act, individuals can ask to see the information about themselves that is held on computer and in some paper records. If an individual wants to exercise this subject access right, they should write to the person or organisation that they believe is processing the data.
A subject access request must be made in writing and must be accompanied by the appropriate fee. In most cases, the maximum fee will be £10, but this can vary, particularly if the information requested is for health or educational records. If a subject access request is made to a credit reference agency for financial information (ie a credit file), then the fee is £2, and the information must be provided within seven working days.

A request must include enough information to enable the person or organisation to whom the subject is writing to satisfy itself as to their identity and to find the information.

A reply must be received within 40 days as long as the necessary fee has been paid. A data controller should act promptly in requesting the fee or any further information necessary to fulfil the request. If a data controller is not processing personal information of which this individual is the data subject, the data controller must reply saying so.

You can make a request of your personal information in writing, by post, email or fax

It is a good idea to make clear you are asking for the information under the Data Protection Act 1998.


Another suggestion would be to make a claim via an Employment Tribunal.

It is easy to do, complete form online and submit it online, see this link:-

Form is ET1, can be used for up to 28 people on one form with the same complaint. If more than 28 wish to make same claim then a CSV file of names, addresses etc needs to be attached.

I quit my Angard job some weeks ago, today finally got my owed pay.

Maybe a coincidence but the "threat" of an ET1 being lodged seemed to make Angard and Royal Mail take notice of me, within a week I got what I was owed.

Multiple submissions of ET1s would certainly give Angard attention that they could not ignore.

Have a look at the link and see if you think it's worthwhile, key point of claim is for "other payments", is worth mentioning the "illegal With Holding of Wages" in the detail of the claim.

Great post above. I would take the ET1 route, its free and will cause most grief for RM, very expensive for them as well.
