I've assumed it would be the same as normal temping - one week after work done, you get paid.
So I started last Wednesday, and thus should get paid the end of this (banking) week - today.

I didn't get anything today, nor did most of the people I'm working with. The supervisors did some phoning/checking (they apparently have a different number for Angard, that they actually answer), and we've been told that if we weren't paid today, we'll get an emergency manual payment paid from Angard tonight.
As it's a Friday though, presumably that won't now show up til Monday?

No Pay after 3 weeks

Post by cafedelaposte »

When I wasn't paid for my first week I rang Angard on 01202688502 and was told I was not on their system This was after they emailed me with my start date and sent my security badge to the depot. I was then asked to give my NI number and bank deatails again as my details were "locked" in a room in Northampton and could I e mail my NI exemption certificate and a copy of my passport.I then had a coversation about NI exemption etc and was assured that I would be paid for two weeks this Friday (8th Dc). Imagine my atonishment when I was not paid today! I have tried to ring them all day but have had no response. I emailed them again and can't wait for their reply. This is not the way to treat staff and I wonder how they got the contract and if there are penalties attached. I am not the only casual in the depot not to have been paid so it seems a common experience. I have read the official opinion of Angard on the Royal mail website and all I can say is the company they describe is not the same one the I work for. For example the manager at the depot asked for 3 extra staff for today and 9 turned up! Angard need to treat casuals with some respect!

Well said mate.. They are it seems .. A bunch of clowns, and while they are sitting in their offices getting paid there are people that are relying on this money to get to work and to pay bills. It is a disgrace that they think they can just fob us off and expect us to wait around for money that we have earned.
I bet none of the Angard staff have had a problem with their wages and are all prepared to go and do Xmas shopping.

Well likewise, 40 hours work for under £40 pay at the bank. Rang their advertised 01604 number - no reply, rang their 0845 contact line, and option 1 (xmas) option 2 (pay) are cut off immediately saying "they are too busy to answer". Managers and other staff lines ring incessantly.
Contacted Angard using the 0753 number, an annoyed member of staff asked me how I got the number, was not happy when I told her I sourced it from the internet and that the number is now public knowledge. Their excuse for such a low payment is that they haven't received the timesheets, and they only paid me for 7.5 hours. She is now arranging an emergency payment once she can contact management at my site on Monday.

Previous years as casual for Royal Mail were far far better, pay was higher, and we received the statement before the money arrived at the bank, payroll staff were courteous and responsive, and I never had to go through this process with them, furthermore they were confident enough to give their names at the start of the call.

Asked her for the name of the head of Angard - refused because I may go to the press. Asked for her name - again refused. Where's that number for the press office at the Daily Hail.....

No Money

Post by kyles00424 »

Okay, so its my 3rd week working nights at royal mail in norwich, and angard have messed up my money twice already.
The first week i was owed monday to thursday (the four days you work in hand), and i was paid for only 3 of them. And now this week, they owe me 57.5 hours and i get nothing.
Not only that, but for the last two hurs, i have been trying to ring them, and i have gotten no reply, the line either continues to ring, or is busy.
Just a few other things...
I applied for this position back in june, and i started 2 and a half weeks ago, i had two interviews because they f**ked up the first one (the guy who interviewed me was employed only 3 days before my interview), i applied for the casual postpperson job in LOWESTOFT, seeing as thats where i live, and have to fork out £30 every week for the bus to norwich, and they have asked me to work next week. hmmmm, well if i dont get my money, IM NOT GONNA BE ABLE TO AFFORD MY BUS FARE FOR THE WEEK SO HOW CAN I? Thinking of saying no anyway, im not fricking working for free.

I started with them on the 2nd Dec, if there pay week is sat-fri, does that mean that i'll only get 1 days pay on the 16th or will they add it to the week i've just done?

Also anyone not had any problems with them? can't imagine that everyone who works with them has had problems.

I started last week on the Thursday. Around 90% off the other casuals have been paid today but me and a few others haven't. I've found it impossible to get through to Angard in any way. I really don't have a clue as to what to do.

Well well,

I posted earlier about supposedly getting paid today after talking to payroll at Angard... well, I've been checking my account and guess what... a big fat zero.

My manager in Norwich was surprised that all the Casuals actually carried on working despite not being paid, but maybe its about time to down tools so to speak, and vote with our feet. Postmen and women at the Outhouse where I am, said they would have been out the door as quick as anything. Wonder where Angard would get enough casuals from at short notice. The time has arrived people to stand up and make a noise.

Hope you have a reasonable weekend, wonder if we'll be paid by then or have to wait till Monday.
