As I've found alternative employment and Angard haven't contacted me despite it being near Xmas (though I applied for a Flexible Resource not a Xmas casual job), I may as well.
But will they answer the phone or even bother reading or responding to an e-mail?

Is it a full time job? You never know if you may need them.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

From the contract 'You have no normal hours of work, and your hours will vary according to the needs of Angard and the availability of work during an Engagement. Angard is under no obligation to provide you with work, or to provide you with a minimum number of hours work each day or week and you are not obliged to accept any work that is offered'.POSTMAN wrote:Is it a full time job? There isn't even a job at the Royal Mail at the moment.

Angard would rather ignore those who were already on their books (maybe worried our 12 weeks might be up?) and get some fresh blood in.
I'm only working this Christmas as I made a point of contacting my MC direct (well I had been working there for the best part of the year!!)
Rotten treatment by a rotten agency.
Wish you luck with your new job hope 2012 is better, although I have heard that there won't be a Christmas next year

The thing is, I've worked there before on more than one occasion. I know the ropes. Yet that seems to have counted for nought.markadam1962 wrote:Oh God this is all some bad dreamf4e wrote:From the contract 'You have no normal hours of work, and your hours will vary according to the needs of Angard and the availability of work during an Engagement. There isn't even a job at the Royal Mail at the moment.so because you "flexible resource" and I guess signed up with Angard pre Christmas, you haven't been called to work your socks off and fill your boots with hours...ha why should Angard pick you? You are proberbly have experience and know your way around, I guess you have had a security check etc. etc.

Last year, turn up at a registration event, first come, first served, docs checked and photocopies left, shift agreed, letter on the day. What a simple system. If it ain't broke...
I assumed (clearly wrongly) that I'd be working there during Xmas, and even before, because I was a flexible resource. I thought that if a flexible resource works as and when required, then surely I'd get work for Xmas.
Had I actually worked in the Royal Mail this Xmas, I wouldn't have applied for the job I'm about to start. So I'm actually glad that they didn't phone me as it gave me a kick up the backside.
