Contact the press here.
I've been contacted by a journalist at The Guardian after he read my post 'My story' on the site who I'm going to write to. Anybody else interested, here are his details:
My name's Graham Snowdon - I work for the Guardian newspaper and write about work and employment - you can see some of the things I've written on my public profile here http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/grahamsnowdon" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
I am contacting you directly because we have had a complaint from someone who applied for xmas temporary work with Royal Mail in Bristol and is unhappy with the way they have been treated. They claim they were told to buy safety boots and report for work, which they did at 6am one morning (with around 20 others), only to then be told that a) their security checks had not been cleared on time and therefore they could not work; and b) subsequently, the provisional offer of work evaporated.
This person thinks Angard overrecruited people for the number of jobs it had, then subsequently treated the people it didn't require very poorly indeed. I noticed there's a lot of discontent with Angard on here.
I think it's a very good story and I'd be very interested to hear from other xmas temporary workers who feel they have been mistreated in similar ways by Angard. You can contact me, in full confidence, by email at graham.snowdon@guardian.co.uk - I will call you back.
Thanks in advance - I'd be hoping to hear from people on or before Thursday 8 December.
Best,
Graham Snowdon

I hope Mr Snowdon realises what he's let himself in for.
A bit like opening the portals of hell, I would imagine. He's going to be busy, very busy.

I bloody well hope so the Government get involved. Angard and Royal Mail have just wasted our time and made me loose my confidence at ever finding a job This was going to be my first Job Ever after frantically searching for a job for over 2 years while in College and Uni. I encourage everyone to right to Graham in the hopes of Angard and RM being exposed. Cue the music!

Re: Contact the press here.
I`ve just now sent him an email, plus a copy of my last email (01 Decemeber) to Angard Staffing complaining about the `lies` I`ve been told about hearing from them, which was due on the 1st December with a starting date of the 2nd at 6am. I`ve actually given up waiting and found other bits & pieces to do, and if I acutally ever do receive an email will now totally ignore it.

We haven't come very far in eighty years, have we?
Though it shames Royal Mail, this is a story that should be told.
