This is rubbish. If the incident happened as he said there is no case to answer. It would be like someone barging into you and then claiming that you ripped their coat and should pay for it. All liability lies with the owner in a case like this, no lawyer will go near this case. Only if something more than this took place like he bashed the dog repeatedly on the ground or something. If the witness backs your story up it will be the end of the matter, no need to get worried about preparing a defence.

 I cannot believe this! Can only echo other peoples advice here--report this to the police, if possible speak to your Union , and insist your DOM listens to you and supports you. There have recently been lots of new legislation regarding this situation, and the Unions and RM are supposed to be dealing with it seriously! Good luck and make sure your bruises, bite marks etc are photographed,,hopefully yourwitness will stand strong. All this in a week when more cases of children being savaged are in the news!
Bad enough you having being attacked without the death of a dog on your conscience.

Have you not heard about false witnesses? What if the owners of the dog find a witness to say this guy acted unlawfully? What if they can afford to pay for a lawyer, do you think he will say 'no I won't take your monoey to handle this case becuase you won't win'? Ofcourse he will take on the case if he's being paid. Your advice to ignore this situation could prove to be very costly. I repeat, he needs to prepare to defend and justify himself in court case, even though that may not happen.

Surely it's a given that if a dog is clamped onto some body part of yours, you can and should do anything u can to get it off?

If I had a staffy on my leg i'd be kicking the s**t out of it until it's backed off and gone away. :hmmmm

You are talking absurdity. You really think they are going to get a false witness (punishable with prison if found out by the way) who will come up with a water tight account to tie in with the facts, get it past the lawyer he wants representing him (not many lawyers would knowingly use a false witness, they will be disbarred) btw most lawyers won't take a case if there is virtually no chance of winning such as this.
I can't believe you think all this is a serious possibility?

'You are talking absurdity.' is not a sentence and neither is it grammatically correct. That's quite clear, as is your nievity. You must think there are no innocent people in prison too then? Amazing.

You are right, it isn't a sentence. You notice that, yet common sense totally eludes you. At no point did I say there are no innocent people in prison either. Some people get killed by cars mounting the pavement. That doesn't mean I don't walk down the path with near certainty that I won't get hit by a car. Common sense my friend or a normal life wouldn't be possible.

Tell them it would have died anyway because if a dog bites you in a public place as you have not entered their property then it can get put down, so either way it would have died so you did it a favour.
