The only tips we get are from Silly Suffolk and none of them are worth £30.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

As previously mentioned does this new legislation on Bribery also cover CEO's self-awarded bonuses? If so they are all, and I mean all, breaking this law.

In other news, milk delivery staff; paper delivery staff; bin collection staff (along with other traditional Xmas tip receivers) may join postal workers living lives of leisure in Her Majesty's Prison Service...

The first time ever I've approved of anything published in the support-Hitler general-strike-is-revolution Daily Mail but putting 'postmen' 'tips' and '£30' in the same sentence just might encourage some of their readers to give us a bit more than the usual fiver.

I thought it was kind of the Daily Wail to remind everyone to tip their postie...........kerching! Doubt I will get anything though, had nothing but complaints today about the bloke who covered my walk last weekLounge Lizard wrote:The first time ever I've approved of anything published in the support-Hitler general-strike-is-revolution Daily Mail but putting 'postmen' 'tips' and '£30' in the same sentence just might encourage some of their readers to give us a bit more than the usual fiver.![]()

Re: postman may face jail for christmas tips
The logic of the value of any tip for a postperson above £30, then begs the question what about company exc`s etc receiving gifts at xmas of a box of wine or whatever gifts above that amount.
The laws of the UK can be picked to bits.... you just appeal and appeal untill you get a better deal against any wrong you may do. But as we all know the higher up the wealth ladder you are, lifes limits that affect you are reduced.
So as an example if you are offered a £40 cash gift, maybe ask for 2 seperate gifts of £20.

Re: postman may face jail for christmas tips
Hi All!
This is my open letter to bosses of royal mail:
Do you tip at restaurants/hairdressers/taxi drivers etc? Do you consider that to be bribery?
As postie I am humbled if given a tip. Some of the comments written in Christmas cards from customers about my work have moved me to tears in the past, are these the thoughts of a corrupt empoyee?
All my tips are used by me on Christmas Day to provide a luxury meal with all the trimmings for the homeless in our area. We do this outside, last year was -6 deegrees. Would you like to come along and help, we will need extra money to pay for the food this year.
£30 - never seen a tip that size, or even heard of one.
Thank you for listening
