Years ago, at christmas, the manager and the union rep sat down and agreed a set overtime regardless of what time you finished - everyone started at 5 and everyone sorted until it was finished and then you went on delivery..............until it was finished which was 9 times out of ten within the limit of the agreed overtime. That was a win win win for the company, the customer and the postie.

We are still kinda doing that in our office but not everyone has to sort ips, so its the same old few who get the longer days
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: Earliler starts for Xmas
Well IPS was controlled by the manager, he judged how much work you had on and would go round the frames taking people off IPS to go and prep or you could approach him to judge what you had on. You couldn't do it now with so many part timers.krussel wrote:dvbuk55 wrote:Years ago, at christmas, the manager and the union rep sat down and agreed a set overtime regardless of what time you finished - everyone started at 5 and everyone sorted until it was finished and then you went on delivery..............until it was finished which was 9 times out of ten within the limit of the agreed overtime.
