I am supposed to start tonight but heard nothing!

Post by rs »

I applied for a Christmas Casual position at the start of October and went to the recruitment event on the 12th of October.
The location that I applied for was Mistral - Home Counties North Mail Centre but my interview was at Watford Mail Centre and I was offered a job on the night shift at Watford. They told me that they would contact me within 2 weeks to confirm that the security checks had passed. I have heard nothing from Angard since then, no replies to my emails, I have phoned several times and only got through once. They told me to just keep waiting for an email.

I am supposed to start tonight, all I have is my provisional job offer. Is there any way to find out whether I am on the list and supposed to attend an induction tonight? Should I just turn up or will I be turned away?

It's really annoying, it was so much easier last year, they contacted me when they said they would and everything went so smoothly.

I didn't turn up on my provisional start date because so many people had been saying they were getting turned away, and it said on my provisional offer letter that you would receive confirmation. I suggest you wait for email/text/phone confirmation that you actually have a position.

My provisional start date was 28th November, but they didn't even contact me until that very day to say that I had a confirmed start date of 5th December. They also changed me from 0600-1400 to 2100-0600. Be prepared for that possibility.
