Presuming you mean "him" as either the manager investigating, or the "complainant" - in either case not very good advice - unless you want to sign on in the next few weeks. He may also indeed be a prick but its still bad advice when its gone official.

Yes him as in the manager who thinks it's appropriate to officially investigate a collegue for a single use of a profanity on electronic media. He's a prick. I'd tell him to f**k off - under my breath obviously.
