After first shift no work? (Glasgow)

Post by Sclark0087 »

I recently started with Angard in Glasgow last Sunday on the night shift but wasn't told when my next shift would be? I asked the shift manager who told me that he did'nt know and that i needed to find out for myself. I found this odd and tried contacting Angard but like many people can't get through on the phone or reply through E-mail. Is anyone else in a similar situation as i have had no work since last sunday?

I would turn up on Monday, If the depot I am in is anything to go by you will be needed due to sickness/absence.

Worst case is they send you home, not such a problem unless the distance is great.

Not that I am aware of i just got offered night shift work im begining to think maybe i should have just turned up on the Monday. It was just because the shift manager said that some of us were working and some werent and others knew which shift they were on which confused me.

Your contract is for "flexible" resource. Therefore RM might have been done on bodies that night rang Angard and you were called in. What alot of people fail to realise that unless Angard TELL you to work say Mon-Fri at x depot and x shift DON'T ASSUME you will be working all days up to Christmas.

I have said on here before working for RM/Angard is going back to "Dock Gates" labour.

I'm in the exact same situation. Is there anyone here working the Glasgow night shift tonight (5th Dec)?
If there is, could you ask the Angard representatives whats going on with this. (There should be reps in tonight as there's supposed to be a new intake of staff tonight)

thanks.

Update.

I've just received a call from Angard asking why I didn't turn up for work last night.
They accepted that I hadn't been informed that I had a shift to go to. (Apparently I wasn't the only one)

To be honest, I was too stunned to ask them any sensible questions so I don't know much more than this.
Although I did 1471 the call and it came from the following Edinburgh number 0131 458 8751.
