My Angard Experience

Post by Hamptonboy »

Aside from not getting the emails, it has been so far, so good.......

I was 30 minutes early for my registration event, was seen straight away - had all my paperwork, got a green dot (I assume that to mean I was good to go), then spoke to a lady about shifts and start dates, asked for the 5th Dec, was open to shift times - was given 9-5. 3 week provisional contract which suits me down to the ground so cant complain one bit at this point.

10 days later my status changes to Hired & Start Date agreed, did start to worry as I'd seen this forum and read the horror stories that are happening ( I assume ) as most RM plants around the UK.

So, further digging on here and got chatting to 2 guys at the same place as me, started to put me at ease. Angard failed to reply to 2 emails, which is not best practice but I know they are going to be busy and from coming from a Recruitment background (I worked in an office that had 2000 applicants a year for 200 jobs and that kept 5 ppl busy all year round) I can easily say that for 13,000 jobs and many more applicants than jobs they will be snowers!!!!

I had a phone message from Angard on Friday which confirmed I was starting on the 5th @ The Outhouse, went to recce the place this morning and chatted to the RM guy on the main door. He confirmed he had an ID card for me, this RM manager came by took my mobile number and then text me earlier to confirm my name was on the list.

I'm pretty happy now that all my worry was for no reason, now to look forward to some hard graft in the run up to Christmas.

Will keep you posted on how it goes....

Day 1 outa the way..... I'm glad I was let in and feel sorry for those who were turned away, i'm sure there was enough work for them all and I wish them all the best in getting in before Crimbo to earn some pennies.

I thought the managers organised us the best they could seen as very few of us had done that kind of thing before. Fairly basic stuff, but time went fast and chatted to a few of the guys and had a pretty positive day.

Looking forward to the remaining 2 weeks 4 days!!11
