Our Manager had received notification that the strikes had broken down on the 9th and it was displayed on the board 1st thing this morning - our first notification was dated the 10th and still hasn't been displayed on the Union notice board
In fairness there was no detail to the Managers post but it was once again an RM first as usual.
In view of the length of time of the talks and the likely outcome - we should have had strike dates ready and announced them TODAY - instead of which RM want more talks and so we have rolled over again. The talks would then have been under OUR control.

sort your rep out mate, our rep arrived 5 am today with national news on strike breaking down plus a local version urging people to stay on board. Completely wiped out managements effort
Can't say the same as I had email on the notice board dated the 9th and my Dom hadn't got a clue till his conference call so members knew first in mine. Thankfully.
I never come across such political crap in all my life.
RM say there is nothing and that's it, then agree to talks. But the Union are too stupid to realise its stalling tactics for RM's bigger picture. RM say they will agree to whatever and then at the last minute say f**k it and walk away. Do our so called union take the appropriate action....no... they ask for more bloody talks. Now many meetings later... more talks are supposed to be agreed and secret strike dates have been set for the future
While all this bull goes on RM will no doubt have something already planned. If I am wrong I will be the first to hold my hand up.
I want to know officialy from CWU, do we start later start times next week or not?
I don't think we should while talks are ongoing. I just hope we get some guidance soon.
Bring in work to rule/overtime ban untill talks are resolved. That way, nobody loses a days pay because of strike action !
Today when I was going round my collection I noticed stickers have been put on the post boxes advising customers of no more sunday collections from the 28th of oct.How comes this has been agreed with out us being notified is this another heavy handed management stunt,as I thought this was being discussed at the 4 week discussions process or have we yet again been shafted.

RM can do what they want with this as its not part of the universal service.
I have backed our Union to the hilt and have complete faith and Bob and Dave but i now think we should draw a line in the sand.
They are starting to take the piss out of us and it has to stop.
We should announce strike days and if they dont like it then tough s**t. Who was it who called the talks to an end? Who was it who said that the "period of calm is over"? Not us them. I dont mind taking the morale high ground but even that has its limits and they have crossed it.
Call some dates lay down the law and if they want to deal thye do it on OUR terms.
