I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Posties doing their rounds in shorts
Years ago it used to be the same as the army with short sleeve order May to October only short short order .
Then we had a very early spring and they let us wear shorts from when we wanted , this upset our then Dom who would get all worked up about the fact I was still in shorts in December so it made me wear them all the time, have not worn trousers at work since, my choice and ,the last time I looked, it is still a free country.

Re: Posties doing their rounds in shorts
our dim said this morning in a WTL session ( on a bloody Friday of all days ) that now it was winter he wanted everyone to wear their uniform trousers.
I told him that my shorts are part of the official uniform and he said that I should still wear trousers as it was now cold.
Told him I was still gonna wear my shorts and he moved onto another subject lol

Re: Posties doing their rounds in shorts
i usually wear shorts all year round, i was a midlander who moved south to warmer climbs, shorts are the ideal walkers clothing less limiting in movement quick drying after downpoors, keepng you cool when overheating in both hot and cold weather, they are no scruffier than trousers and i dont do it for charity. when it gets to cold i will wear my kilt
as for the guy who made the comment on the legs
, its all about comfort for me ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Re: Posties doing their rounds in shorts
Yes it hasn't been that cold yet plus the new design shorts are longer and go over your knees
so are a bit warmer where as the old shorts were shorter and made you feel colder...also with
all the new van share duties and the more walking and steps etc you keep warmer hence no
call for wearing long trousers just yet until it gets really really cold.

Re: Posties doing their rounds in shorts
My legs never really get cold, especially when I'm constantly moving on delivery. It's also more practical to wear shorts in the rain as obviously skin dries quicker than fabric. Nothing worse than getting off delivery only to have to work all afternoon in soaking wet trousers.

Re: Posties doing their rounds in shorts
If people want to wear short all year round,by all means crack on.But FFS do not moan when it's cold like a pillock in our office does. When people say dont wear shorts if your cold,he says"i will wear what i want thankyou"
