Worth turning up with just a provisonal offer?

Hi there fellow Angard fans,
I was given a provisional offer to work nights at Exeter interviews on the 19th November and two weeks later, there has been nothing from Angard.

I was provisionally meant to start tomorrow night (4th Dec) and not sure what to do now as Angard are stupidly difficult to get a hold of and Exeter RM offices are shut over the weekend. My status on the RM website says 'processing offer' - what does this even mean?

Is it worth just turning up tomorrow night with my provisional offer for the shifts agreed and hoping for the best and that somehow I am on their list? It seems a lottery but I feel helpless at the mo.

I would be REALLY grateful to anyone who has been through this mess before and can give me some much needed advice...

Yeah thought as much - wishful thinking I guess, just desperate for the work like lots out there.

I have heard conflicting stories of people with contracts turning up for first shifts and being turned away whilst some turn up with just a prov offer and get put on so was n't sure if it was worth a go.

i got turned away on same day i had no idea about any of this till i got there, and been trying to sort this out isnt angard fun to deal with

Conflicting reports - Indeed.

Don't quote me on this and I'm not too sure of the exact circumstances. I'm Sure I read a post here where someone turned with a provisional on an early (6.00am), name was on the list. They then received the formal offer at 9.00 am on the same day whilst working.

Guess if it's no great hardship to get there and you expect to be turned away - You never know !

Have virtually given up trying to get a start date from this load of idiots. I have had a letter from the Chairman welcoming me to Royal Mail, I have had my status changed to employed and start date agreed( it hasn't been) and I have heard no more since the 9th November. I have followed every avenue to try and contact Angard, they do not answer the phone or their e-mails and so what chance have we got. Seems to me they are hiding because they haven't got it right this year. (Their first year)..I then tried customer services and other departments but everyone I speak to tells me my name is on the list but its up to Angard to send out the details to me. Its a complete and utter Sham.

Thanks all for your advice.I am going to turn up tonight anyway as there is nothing to lose.

If no luck, I am going to hound Angard tomorrow on the Xmas number 01604 629 381 and hopefully get to the bottom of this.

I'll be ready to cut my losses and continue job hunting elsewhere I'm sure by the end of tomorrow.

I had an offer fro 14th at a certain depot. Turned up there with my letter and was told that I was not neded. Luckily the manager phoned a smaller deopt that had been trying to get a temp for weeks and I started there the same day.

Apparently the Xmas temp side of Angard don't talk to the year-round temp side of the business

Angard are numpties. I'll be going in later. I have an assurance that my name is on the list, but no email confirmation. It could be a long night. Maybe I'll write a letter to Moya Greene while I'm waiting to be sent home....

yes as some have said, did they get paid tho, no contract no pay. bet the full time RM workers were laughing there sacks off free labour easy shift for them.
