£100 Christmas Bonus

I went sick on friday of this week (2 Dec).Someone has mentioned to me that the Christmas bonus will be cut or even stopped because I took a day off in December,being a saturday morning there was'nt a union rep around to ask and mangers were useless can anyone on here confirm this ?

The eligibility criteria for the Christmas bonus payment will be the same as last year, based on the four December weeks (commencing 28 November).

For each full week an indivdual recieves no pay during the presure period ( eg unpaid special leave etc ) the indivdual will lose one quarter of the supplement.

For each full week where basic pay is reduced for sick pay pension rate the indivdual will lose one quarter of the supplement.

For each full week where basic pay is reduced for sick half pay the indivdual will lose one - eighth of the supplement

For each day counted midnight to midnight excluding bank holidays on which an employee takes unofficial industrial action their supplement will be abted by 10%
for official action it will be abted by 3%

Sorry just flicked on and ive got to pop out so not time to read the whole thread. A mate did not show this morning and when they phoned him he went sick So what will he get ? He will go mental if he lost the bonus Ta.

As long as he is on full sick pay he will get the full bonus.
Abatement only applies if you are receiving less than full pay.

I had a day off last December and they didn't dock my bonus although after taxes it is only about £70.
If I remember rightly, they give you the £100 and then take it back in January if you go off sick.

As long as he is on full sick pay he will get the full bonus.

I don't understand this some people on here say you will lose the £100 bonus if you go sick an some people say you get it if your on full sick pay, we are on full sick pay anyway arn't we, can someone clear this up please.

I was sick last December, returned about the 13th and got the full bonus.

The Royal Mail pay directive states :

The directive authorises a one off christmas supplement to operational and operational support employees in post on 29th November 2010 who complete the four week christmas pressure period . The payment is a flat rate of £100 per person (paid pro -rata to part time employees and will be paid on Friday 17th December 2010. The payment is not consolidated , neither is reckonable for overtime , allowances , SA , nor pension purposes. It is liable for tax and National insurance.

Part time employees are entitled to the xmas supplement on a pro rata basis. They will recive the payment pro rata to a full time (eg 40/39 5/39 hours ) week according to their contracted hours on the date paymentis made. Part time employees that vary their contractual hours and work full time for a two week period during the christmas pressure period will be paid the full christmas supplement.

Eligiblity for payment is linked to employment during the christmas pressure period.

Sorry to raise this subject again but I've just found out I've a hospital appointment during the x-mas pressure period I usually get a days special leave for going, will I lose any of the X-mas bonus for this one day?

Yes.
Even if it was unpaid i think it takes a full week to trigger a deduction although that might change under the PSP system.
