What news do you have about the process to date?
I have an offer to start 2 December. Anyone out there with a similar offer?

I'm in the same boat as you, I might chance it as i live within walking distance and it's early afternoon plus puts my mind at rest. This would be my 5th time (sad b'gger) if i get in although i don't hold much hope.Emzay wrote:Im having a similar issue but am due to start at York. TODAY. Can't get through to anyone. Re: Is anyone working in LEEDS?
Not sad at all, it would be my second but i live a 30 minute drive away and would have to pay parking so at the moment based on what other people have been told on the phone this morning I am inclined to think it would be a wasted journey, was considering calling the sorting office direct to see if they have me on a list but not sure :/ndevr wrote:I'm in the same boat as you, I might chance it as i live within walking distance and it's early afternoon plus puts my mind at rest. I'm supposed to start tomorrow. Security Checks passed. No email. No text. Guy on the phone says I shouldn't turn up without a confirmation. It's two buses and about a minimum £5 round trip to the depot if I want to risk it. Not best pleased.

Re: Anyone got an e-mail confirming work at LEEDS?
I posted this on another thread. I was supposed to start today at 6am to 2pm according to Provisional offer Letter at the York Mail Centre. Have telephoned 01604 629381 five times during November, the last time on Monday (28th Nov `11) when I was told that I had passed all vetting procedures and would receive an email plus Contract in 1 or 2 days - the 2nd day being Wednesday. Nothing appeared so have emailed to the following address `angardxmas.queries@reedglobal.com` twice, once yesterday and early today complaining about the waste of time (asked to go and get a 2nd photo when only one was needed and cost me an extra £5) and money at the Registration session on the 3rd October, not updating `My Applications` and their unwillingness to pull their finger out where vetting and lettting people know what is happening. They can`t even give courteous email replies. I have worked for Royal Mail at Christmas time since 2000 and this is the worse it`s ever been. Wish I could sent my email direct to Royal Mail`s bosses.

Other people have suggested contacting the sorting office directly to see if your name's on the list- anyone have the number for the Leeds Mail Centre? Done a few searches but can't find it anywhere.

Re: Anyone got an e-mail confirming work at LEEDS?
Most of us starting at York are getting our confirmation emails AFTER our original start date and the start date the email states is usually about a week after the date originally given to us, if you want to be sure you can contact York direct on 01904 617294 and they'll tell you if they've got you on a list to start or not, I hope this helps. I know 'JOHN YORK'' on here is supposed to finally be starting tonight (i am set for monday) so we might get some further info from the managers themselves after he's been in. When I called they told me angard are sending them a list of which staff to expect around 28-24hrs before each start date.johnabosotck wrote:I posted this on another thread. Re: Anyone got an e-mail confirming work at LEEDS?
Passed security checks, online application status updated to "Hired and start date agreed" but no confirmation email yet. Was due to start tommorow morning and the woman that interviewed me said "if you don't hear anything from us just turn up on the day an hour before your shift starts".
Anyway, got a call from Leeds Mail Centre today saying I'm on a waiting list! I called staffing at the mail centre and they confirmed I'm not on the list for work tommorow that Angard sent them and if I go down there, I'll be turned away.
Cant get through to Angard on any of their phone numbers or by email. So I don't know what job they hired me for or what start date has been agreed.
The whole thing has been a shambles from start to finish. I was relying on this job to pay the rent, so to find out less than 24 hours before that I havent got a job has screwed me over big time.
Happy Christmas to you too Angard
