I've just rung balance of staff for York and my name wasn't on the list. Rung Angard (0845467361) Shock horror got through straight away was told that they only started security checks on me last week and it would be next wk that i would find out. Oh well no point getting upset.
What annoyed me most was the fact that i went for registration on 5th Oct and they've only just started doing checks now, you would have thought that they would have given people a Yay or Nay in good time

Yeah I rang York up just before 12, manager was dead helpful and I'm also not on the list. I was in at 9:30am on the 3rd october! I think you and I are in the exact same position pretty much so I guess we should just pray for a 2nd/5th dec start? The guy I spoke to at York told me he gets his lists about 48hrs before each start date. He also took my name/number and told me he'd ring me if I appeared on any of his lists so I had definite confirmation, which was nice!
we've Been At Royal Mail As Casuals Employed By Angard For 2 Weeks And Havent Been Paid Yet :( Royal Mail Gave Us A Couple Off Numbers 2 Ring Have Been Trying Past Couple Off Days For 10 Minutes Each Time And No Answer? it's Really Frustrating Ppl Have Bills 2 Pay For And There's No One 2 Talk 2 To Help?? :'( Also My Friend Got Told 2 Start On The 14 November After Working 3Days They Escorted Off Site As Angard Hadnt Sent All Her Details In Then She Got A Email Telling Her A New Date 2 Start She Went Down 2 Royal Mail 2 Be Turned Away Again She's Been Trying 2 Get In Touch But Again Angard Are Not Answering The Phones And When They Eventually Answered They Lad On The Other End Didnt Even Ask Her Name Where She Worked Disgraceful
Tried ringing the first 0845 number, got a robot telling me they weren't taking calls about christmas positions due to the sheer volume of calls. Tried the second, got an answer, explained that I was told I was due to start today. The girl asked me if it was a provisional offer letter, and just told me to wait for the email. (that's what I've been doing already, for god's sake ) She didn't even bother to take my details or anything..

Iv tried few times through email but automatic reply. I went to glasgow for the interview for springburn sorting office in october, have not heard anythin and im sure the start date was 29th tommorrow?! anone from glasgow share any light on what I should do?

I started last night in sprinburn, 71 of us and not one person knew if we have to go back tonight. You cant get in contact with angard and the angard people there at the time ticked our names and left, no info!! Royal Mail said they have no idea who is back in!! everyone on here is complaining about angard for one reason or another !!!
Oh really, im guessing im not one of the lucky ones or maybe I am lol they sound absolutley shocking to work for im kinda glad that I havent been asked cos i get the feeling the first payday woudl be xmas eve as there whole process is so messed up its a joke! Oh well I hope you sort everything out and find out your hours I was kinda looking foreward to it too :(

Well you maybe depnds on the start date you ticked. The company is a joke and yeah a think your right about the pay, ill be shocked if any pay goes in my bank this year !!
i went to start work today and a few of us got sent home as our security checks had not been done. i will be ringing angard tomorrow to find out whats happening.
What a complete shambles Angard is.Its despicable,after going for the interview at the novotel in Ipswich was finally given a four week contract beginning 5pm 28/11/11 and would be sent confirmation nearer the time.The website keeps displaying 'awaiting further info' and as has happened to many others on here i had no confirmation so went along anyway with all my paperwork id signed at end of interview only to be sent home after one hour into my shift as they had no record of me starting work.
This company is a big joke.
In my provisional offer letter for the Christmas casual,I was supposed to start the work at the 29th of November. However, I received a text in my mobile phone from Angard saying that I'm starting on the 28th. I went at the Royal Mail yesterday just to find out that my name wasn't on the list, so I couldn't work.
Also, I am almost sure that they have changed the rates of the salary per hour. They were higher when I made the application and after I've been hired and check again they were lower. I don't have any proofs however and I don't know how to deal with it.
Is there anyone thinking the same about the salary rates?
wow im not the only one.. I have been waiting for 3weeks for an email and still nothing. Even tho on my application form it say's security checks passed. I really needed this job
I had a telephone call today 29/12 from angard staffing, asking me if i am available to start working as a mail sorter from tomorrow evening in Portbury(Bristol),because it is emergency.When i asked for the hourly rate payment the customer service representative told me that it meets the national minimum wage (night shift). I had an interview on the 26th of October with Royal Mail (through angard staffing) and they gave me a provisional offer letter with my name the location of work, my shift and starting date 29/11 till 22/12. In this provisional letter was also mentioned tha they will email me to let me know whether i have passed and if i have passed that they would send me my contract which will constitute their formal offer. I waited 2-3 weeks from the interview as i was told and i didn''t have any reply at all and they called me last minute without any contract sent to me, to attend my first shift which means to accept the terms of the contract that i have never received. I realy wanted to work for the Royal Mail but now i am working somewhere else and i didn't have any notification in order to quit my job, any information or contract received and possibly got wrong information about the hourly rate of the night shift that i have chosen.Same thing with many others with the contact telephone 08454607318,.nobody answers.I have sent a complaint letter because i cannot risk to quit my current job without even knowing what would be the hourly rate for night shift..if it is national minimum wage that means 6,08, so it doesn't worth at all..and without any contract they can pay you what they want..its too risky for me.
) She didn't even bother to take my details or anything..
I really needed this job
