FAO Those Turned Away On Supposed Start Date

Can anyone who recieved an email from Angard confirming start date only to be turned away by Royal Mail because their name wasn't on "the list" please tell me what happened to them next ?

On Wednesday 23rd of November I recieved confirmation over the phone, text and email that I was starting tomorrow, 28/11.
I've been a Christmas Casual with Royal Mail for the last 3 years & have quite a few friends at the mail centre who are perminant staff.
I text one of them the day after my confirmation to tell him that I would be starting on the 28th only for him to then tell me today that after speaking to my line manager for the past 3 years that my name was not on the list for starters this week.

I intend to turn up tomorrow just in case, but what do I do if I'm turned away ?

I know I've read of this happening in numerous threads on here, but because of the volume of topics I don't no where to begin to look for the answers should this scenario happen to me tomorrow.

Surely the email should be confirmation enough. Not having received one yet myself, I can't confirm if that is the case.

I got turned away and i'm still in a s**t hole. No one's bothering to answer me or give me a straight reply. I've sent lots of emails to the reedglobal site with no reply. Good luck trying to get a hold of someone who actually knows what they're doing...

don't bother = stay away. I went there to get a job for a while, not to be treated like garbage by heartless gits.

When I logged into the royalmail my applications and checked my recruitment status it stated as HIRED AND START DATE AGREED. But very confused i did not get even an confirmation email of starting date nor even in post. I just hate Angard staffing.
Please can one help me.

Sorry, I think we're all in the dark. I've worked the last 3 Xmas's in Canterbury but Angard has f****d everything up. Just ring the depot if you can, or go down there on the off-chance they might let you in. You might be better off looking for another job. I'm going to keep trying to get some sense out of them for a few more days. Good luck all.

kept phoning and e-mailing.

No reply from e-mails.

Managed to get through several times, just said they would forward on my details and someone would be in touch. no phone call.

still not started and highly doubt i will! i'm gutted.

Rookwood 1 did you get sorted at Canterbury i was due to start today at 2.00pm my security clearance came through at 4.00pm same day suppose i have got to wait for email confirming when and where.

It is stupid, they gave everyone, in writing, a provisional offer of work subject to passing the CRB check and then when you turn up for work, you get turned away. I have even signed the work contract they sent me. What gives?

Im meant to start 2 day at the Belfast royal mail centre in mallusk 5pm to 10pm. angard just phoned me to conform if I was going to come to day. so hopefully my name is on the list
