Ipswich Christmas Casuals
I was just wondering if anybody in Ipswich had actually heard back from them, seeing as our Interview (If could even call it that) was a month ago and we were told would find out in 2-3 weeks. A week ago checked the Royal Mail website to see it had finally changed to security checks passed after about 2 weeks of sayin they were processing, so i spoke to them on the Phone a week ago and was told i would get an email in about 2 days which never arrived, seriously what is going on with this place. This will be my 6th time working as a christmas casual for them and never have i had as much problems as i have experienced this year, for the life of me i can't why a company this disorganised is allowed to deal with this. I mean the only place i have seen more disorganised and with such poor communication than Angard is the Jobcentre

Re: Ipswich Christmas Casuals
I recommend that you contact Angard, and chase it up. There are several phone numbers in this thread: http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 47&t=39719" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; A lot of people have been having the same kind of problems, and have at least got start dates: http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 47&t=40403" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Only time will tell if there are actually jobs there for those with a start date (quite a few people have turned up and found the site had no idea they'd been asked to start there!
), but the odds are good, as it's getting closer to Christmas. So the workload is already starting to build up, and Royal Mail will be in great need of extra staff soon.
Good luck.

Re: Ipswich Christmas Casuals
That's why there's a list of numbers. Several people have contributed numbers that they've managed to find for Angard, so hopefully you should be able to get a response from one of them. It's shameful the number of people who've been having the same experience. Just keep trying all the numbers, and don't give up. The amazing thing is, that in a matter of weeks. We're going to be desperate for extra staff, because of Christmas pressure. And yet, Angard are failing miserably to provide the staff we need.

yeah managed to finally speak to somebody on the main number to then be transferred through to them but got told that apparently they only letting people know a week before they are meant to start is why i havent heard anything yet despite the fact i was told i would of heard for definate a week ago, so i imagine i will have to call up again in a week.

I'll agree with you there andy,, eurocentral scotland is way short in staff, and the backlog left over for the nightshift yesterday was scary, 5 trailors in from 7pm till 8pm, and only 14 workersandy2007 wrote: The amazing thing is, that in a matter of weeks. Re: Ipswich Christmas Casuals
Hi, I got my Offer of Christmas Assignment email through on Thurs Nov 24 working Earlies at Ipswich starting Tues Nov 29. Which is great considering I'd only been able to secure a two week contract starting on Dec 6, that has left me feeling just a little confused, is it a mistake? And the email stated....'The first day of your assignment is Start Date 29 Nov 2011, your shift time will be WAITING LIST - PLEASE AWAIT CONTACT BY ROYAL MAIL.,' ......What does that mean exactly, I'm half expecting to turn up and as I've read on this forum in many places, my name isn't on their list and I'll be turned away again. I emailed Angardxmas.queries@reedglobal.com on the 24th but have so far received no reply. I will of course be at the sorting office by 7am Tuesday morning, but I dont feel confident there will be a job for me. Am curious to know if anyone else is going through a similar experience. This is very different to my other experiences working with Royal Mail at Christmas, this will be my 4th time, possibly, and the previous 3 were much better organised, wheres the induction day gone??
And another thing is although I know where I'm working at Commercial Road, I have had no indication of where I'm supposed to go, am I to just walk straight into the workplace and look for a manager, the reception isn't going to be opened at that time.
