And judging by what others have said on this site, turning up tomorrow would be a wasted journey.
I went on 18th October to the registration event.. I'm going to turn up anyway even if it is a wasted journey, and then if I get turned away I am going to ring Angard and if that gets me nowhere I will take it a step further and contact a newspaper :whistle
thats exactly what is need doing,, national newspapers would have a field day with that lot (angard),, personaly i think royal mail are personaly responsible for all of this,, why on on earth has RM got in toe with angard ( a company that has proven to inadequit ), it surely need's investgating,, to much is being swepped under the table,, and the national papers are the ones to find out what it is.

chach wrote:the annoying thing is i spent ten pound printing, photocopying the documention and getting my passport photos done. I read you need to have some steel capped shoes (or something) and we still might get turned away which is annoying because they said they would reply within three weeks of interview if i passed security check which i did
Same here :( I will ring Angard in the morning and If I get through I will ask them about the steel capped boots, but they probably wont be able to give a straight answer :arrrghhh

The chances of that happening are very slim. The box with our details in it is probably in the skip.

Remember everyone, RMG uses Angard because RMG owns Angard 100%, common directors, registered company address etc. Angard has issued 1 (one) share, guess who owns it ?

Angard is RMG, RMG is Angard.

Really need to ask the question do they really care, based on my experience - No they don't, hence the pay rates etc.

Is it that Angard are completely incompetent or just overwhelmed?, either way at the end of the day RMG has the final responsibility.

It is RMG's job to manage Angard.

This is not the first time "Xmas rush" has happened, they should have been better prepared.

If safety footwear is necessary then the "employer" should provide it - "that's the law"

I've just spoken to Angard on the 01604 629381 number... been told I'm on a waiting list for a job  basically Angard have given out too many provisional offer letters and are now waiting for people to drop out of wanting their jobs so that people on the waiting list can work.. or something along those lines anyway.

Oh and just because I was told verbally at my interview that I have a job (providing I pass security checks -WHICH I PASSED WEEKS AGO!!!) and that I have a provisional offer letter and also signed a Royal Mail contract at my interview - doesn't mean I have a job :evil/mad

I was told I have to wait until I get an email through saying I can start work...and I could be waiting another 3 weeks and then given only 1 weeks work (well, the guy on the phone wouldn't comment on that, so I'm only assuming). I'm not a happy bunny :cry

Absolutely disgusting. How can people that turned up at 9am on the first day be the ones that end up on the waiting list. I

loobyloo6 I'm guessing you are the young lady I spoke to at the Royal Mail centre when we turned up and were sent away? I am Paul, the big guy with the beard and bald head :Very Happy

I've had no luck on the number you gave me or the 0845 number

Been told by a good friend that Angard outsource to another company but have had no answer from them either.

Shambles

Yeah it's me! :) My mum phoned Angard about 2 hours ago and spoke to a Manager (her name was******** and she said that Royal Mail is to blame and that we're all on a waiting list! Tried to ring Royal Mail to get a comment from them but couldn't get through on the 0845 number that I found on the net. Left a message with the Birmingham Post/Mail asking if they would be interested in this story. I also have contacts with the Daily Mail so fingers crossed that this will finally be publicized!

It's ridiculous how Angard are pointing the finger at RMG and RMG are pointing the finger at Angard when they are one in the same. Honesty goes a long way and the pair of them are lying through their teeth.

loobyloo6 I was at the sorting office today as well I'm the shortie in the parker lol :D
I've just been phoning up Angard and finally got through, they also told me that RM was the problem. They told me that all Angard do is fill in the online applications and then send it to RM, who in my case decided to send it back saying something was missing off mine :S the nice young gentleman who answered my call checked my application and nothing was missing so he doesn't know whats wrong either, but has put a note on it and sent it back to RM. He told me I should get a full offer in about a weeks time and I should call back on Friday to chase it and see if there's been any change to my application. But hopefully I will be working within a fortnight.

I'm glad you're mentioning it to the press - people turning up for jobs that don't exist at Christmas is a disgrace! We've all been had (I'm not down for Birmingham but in same boat).

I got this email 5 mins after my mum spoke to a manager at Angard:

Dear *****,

On behalf of Angard Staffing I am pleased to advise you that your security checks have been returned clear.

Once we have an assignment for you we will contact you with a start date,

On your first day, dress code is casual dress and if you have safety shoes, please bring those with you.

If you become unavailable to work for any reason, please email angardxmas.queries@reedglobal.com at the earliest opportunity to let us know.

In preparation for your first day, please refamiliarise yourself with the RMG Angard Staffing Induction booklet, which you read at your registration day and is attached to this email. .

On your first day, please bring proof of your identity (ideally including your photograph) e.g. Passport, Driving Licence. This is required for security purposes, when you will be given your photo ID to wear.

Finally, I hope that your time with Angard Staffing is enjoyable and rewarding.

Yours sincerely

My online application status has also changed to 'HIRED AND START DATE AGREED' - which means absolutely nothing because I met a young man earlier today who's status was the same and yet his name was not on the list so he was turned away! I have also not received any information on when my start date is....
