Anyone due to start on Monday at Birmingham?

Post by loobyloo6 »

Just wondering if anyone is due to start on Monday (28th) for the 2pm-10pm shift at Birmingham mail centre?

I attended the interview, was given verbal confirmation that I have a christmas job, have passed security checks, haven't heard from Angard since my interview on 18th October. Spent the last 2 days trying to get through to their xmas team via emails/phone calls - all without any success... so I haven't had proper confirmation that I even have a job!

Is anyone else that is in the same boat going to turn up regardless of not receiving confirmation letters etc. on Monday???

Hi,
I attended on the 18th for Brum sorting centre too. Chose the night shift and was basically told it's yours expect to hear from us in 3 weeks. However, like you I have heard sod all.

What makes it worse is that I was on here earlier and was speaking to a guy that attended the Brum registration event on the 21st, he got told he was being put on a reserve list because of how many applicants there had been on the 18th yet they have gotten a job before us. Their security checks passed 2 days ago whereas mine passed weeks ago.

It is a f***ing joke.

I've just spoken to a guy called David at Angard on the 01604629381 number, told him my situation and he couldn't give me a proper answer about what the hell is going on and why I have heard nothing back from Angard since my interview on 18th October.. I told him that I wish to speak to a manager, he has taken my name and number so I'd better be getting a call back from their manager shortly :arrrghhh

Hope I will finally get an answer about what is going on and why no one is hearing anything back...

You are mere fodder for the likes of Angard, sad but true

out of interest when did you guys go to the registration event?

And judging by what others have said on this site, turning up tomorrow would be a wasted journey.

I went on 18th October to the registration event.. I'm going to turn up anyway even if it is a wasted journey, and then if I get turned away I am going to ring Angard and if that gets me nowhere I will take it a step further and contact a newspaper :whistle

I went on the 18th at 9am too.
So it seems the people that chose the earliest available slots to ensure they were at the top of the pile have been screwed over.

Well done Angard :Applause

Let me know what happens when you turn up tomorrow then loo, cheers.

the annoying thing is i spent ten pound printing, photocopying the documention and getting my passport photos done. I read you need to have some steel capped shoes (or something) and we still might get turned away which is annoying because they said they would reply within three weeks of interview if i passed security check which i did
