Is it compulsory for Processing OPGs to wear uniform?

What's the policy where you work?

You should wear the uniform provided. remember the tax benefit, it all adds up. I believe that public facing staff are meant to wear their uniforms and those working indoors are allowed leeway.

we have never looked so scruffy.Don't these scruffy looking posties have no pride.shorts,socks up to knees,shoes or boots with shorts look horrible.Whats gone wrong someone sort this horrible uniform out.

Apparently managers at the new Medway MC have been told they have to wear a red polo shirt like the OPGs.

At least if the staff in the MC wear uniform it makes it a bit easier to tell when some random drunk homeless bloke wanders in off the street, which did happen a couple of times on nights in our old MC.

If random drunk homeless blokes weren't allowed to wander into Glasgow Mail Centre during the night, there wouldn't be any staff.

I'd say 90% of staff in our MC wear jeans and trainers with red polo shirts.

You're right about uniform not being compulsary for indoor Posties. But the exception is, that no matter what you choose to wear. You still have to wear PPE (Safety Boots, Hi Viz, etc.).
