At my interview Way back in October (11/10/11), told that I'd (practically) got the job, Night shifts at Ipswich's Main centre, starting the 29th of Nov, pending the secuirty checks/ vetting.
Well, the 29th is less than a week away, and having checked my emails and the RM applications page every day, I haven't heard Diddly-squit.
Before anyone suggests it, I've tried phoning the numbers (found here) for Angard, and its changed from no one talking to me (Ringing and ringing), to what I presume to be REFUSING to talk to me (Rings, answers slams phone down.)
So, what the hell do I do? Turn up on tuesday night, and get turned away, having wasted bus fare and having to make a 6 mile walk home at 10 at night?
Being on JSA, I'm kinda stuck. If I turn up, work, I'm breaking the law, working whilst still on JSA, If I close my JSA, turn up and get turned away, I'm screwed.
Seriously, the hell do I do?
Is it perhaps worth contacting the Ipswich Main centre and seeing if there expecting me?
EDIT: Oh and I absolutely love the fact all the Angard paperwork I have says "Any problems and concerns? Feel free to contact us!" with NO contact information on it anywhere.
Well played Angard, Well played.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Status still reads "interview booked"
You are not alone!
My status also reads 'interview booked' despite attending the interview/registration event at Swindon mail centre on 27/10/11 and a subsequent health and safety event on 10/11/11.
I'm not due to start work until 5/12/11 so I still have a week and a bit to receive my contract from Angard. I will, however, try to email and phone them in the meantime.
