NIMC has reached its target of 67 per cent,we reached that target at the end of sept only to be told the £600 will MAYBE be paid on the 4th of november,i thought that when you reached the set average target for 5 days the money was automatically paid out.could someone please tell me that if the targets reached, does the other 30 mins per week automatically set in,and if it does are we entitled to get these hours lost paid back if royal fail holds out for ie 4,5 or six weeks.Stampy wrote:Rumour going around PE MC that there are 2 options.
1) 12 mins each day at the END of your shift... Not a chance in my opinion, they struggle to clear for 0600 even now.
2) 2300 start on the Monday night, 2200-0600 the rest of the week.
The idea of "banking" your hour for Annual Leave was thrown out - they can't even sort out the Annual Leave now, let alone with people having extra days off there and there!!!
My feeling is management will FORCE the choice of option 1

Lump sums
The £1000 lump sum (pro rata for part time employees) will be paid in two phases.
Phase 1 is a lump sum of £400 to be paid when the Mail Centre is successfully deploying walk sequencing letter mail to the transformation plan for 50% of the Delivery Offices within its catchment area.
The remaining £600 will be paid on the same basis when the Mail Centre is walk sequencing mail for 100% of its Delivery Units.
Shorter Working Week
The one hour reduction will be implemented in two phases. There will be a reduction of 30 minutes or credit given (either aggregated to provide additional leave or taken as scheduled attendance by employee choice) when the Mail Centre is walk sequencing mail for 50% of its catchment area. The final 30 minute reduction will be implemented (along with the phase one 30 minutes if not already deployed) when the Mail Centre is walk sequencing mail for 100% of its Delivery Units.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Shorter working week
Way it worked for us is that the data went for 'verification' (don't ask, I don't know), then to be signed off by national or something, first payment took 16 weeks from trigger date (happened during Christmas, go figure), second took 8 weeks.mcc868 wrote:NIMC has reached its target of 67 per cent,we reached that target at the end of sept only to be told the £600 will MAYBE be paid on the 4th of november,i thought that when you reached the set average target for 5 days the money was automatically paid out.could someone please tell me that if the targets reached, does the other 30 mins per week automatically set in,and if it does are we entitled to get these hours lost paid back if royal fail holds out for ie 4,5 or six weeks.
SWW half hours were accounted for in the duties from the week the lump sum was payable
time was backdated to when we hit the targets, first payment we had the choice of SA or a day in lieu, second either SA or a deduction against the hours you have 'banked' (which they shouldn't have)

Re: Shorter working week
here at Gatwick Mail Centre we have just been told that as from next week we are on a 39 hour week and we will get the £600 pounds because the targets have at last been reached on css machines. Also we had an audit this week and got two more points after getting the bronze, i think Belfast lost a point in their last audit. The last two weeks the "world class" has gone mad with people jumping on the bandwagon because of the audit. What a waste of time world class is.

Re: Shorter working week
we at GMC are in a second stage dissagreement with regards to SWW ,they (management) want us to come in 12mins later everyday but thats not what it says in the agreement .....and you cant mis-interpret that part in the agreement employee choice get a grip
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

2 choices at PE MC....
Bank your 1/2 hour, and use it later (at your manager's discretion)
OR
Take the money as an SA payment...

Re: Shorter working week
YO MC set a target of 81% CSS to trigger second phase payment.(negotiated by our area rep
)
Currently hitting around 79.8% regular don't think we have any chance of getting our target as it's out of our hands ( CSS rejects a problem in DO's ).
Agree with previous posts, lost our bargaining power when forced to take our half hour's as flex day off after only 1 day banked. Now we have half hour off the lightest day of the week Mon( Nights), now MCM in no hurry to get second phase in, they have what they want, and we have given up any sort of bargining tool we had. Cheers Area Rep

Think you might have got a bit confused PM?That just means all the DO's will get walk sequenced mail (100% of DO's).The figure of 81% is how many of the total letters you send to the DO's that are actually walk sequenced, and this is the figure that is locally agreed.(i think)?
same as it ever was...

Yep that's right hubbahubba, but not only is it 81% of mail we batch to DO's we are being told its 81% of mail thats sequenced on to delivery frames once its gone through CSS machines ( so out of our hands as CSS machines are in DO offices) Is this right???hubbahubba wrote:POSTMAN wrote:Mickey,i would say your AR got a good deal...Processing

I belive RM moved the goalposts yet again on National Agreement quoted as it was too easy so they introduced this performance ellement and CWU at National level let them ,but the 81% was agreed locally by our AR so no I don't think we got a good deal. Anyone know how it's worked out??? And can anyone beat 81%???

Re: Shorter working week
We were told at work last night that as from Monday 23rd January, our working hours are as follows :-
Mon 2230-0600
Tue-Fri 2200-0600
Funny how the morning and afternoon shifts have got the half-hour "bunged on" the end of their final shift - and the Night Shift have it at the start of their first???
