My Son just heard from the Christmas team - profuse apologies for the 'co**-up' of last night etc.
He will deffo be starting NEXT Monday now - but only the night shifts left - still its a job for a few weeks. :)

When your son turned up last night, did he already have an email to confirm he was starting last night?

yes he had an email AND a telephone call from Angard confirming start date and time - my son was VERY embarrassed at being turned away. BUT he was eventually told yesterday that he WAS on the LIST for next weeks Start (at SHEFFIELD sorting office)...!!!!

Hey, went to the Derby place where I'd be doing my job (if I'm lucky. checks all passed though), only to get told by the receptionist that most people have already started there. You can imagine how surprised I was. Finally got through to someone just now after trying to ring from 12 yesterday.

The guy I just spoke to on the 01604 629 381 number just gave me another number to ring regarding Christmas work queries (... I'm pretty sure they're the Xmas team but okay). Anyway, this number is 0845 4607318, and option 1 if it's about Xmas work queries. You can only call it between 1pm-6pm though, I'm afraid.

I've been trying to be patient, and I understand that it's the company, not the people who are on the phones working for them, they've been put in at the deep end, and it can't be fun working there right now. However, it really is horrible that we don't have much to go on after the interviews, with only the lucky few who are actually contacted by them first. I was phoning yesterday and it made that long beeping sound at the end (when it decides it can't ring anymore), I called back instantly and it was engaged. How does that even work? :/

yea but they should be prepared for the calls if there not doing anything! i got through at 4.50 yesterday an they said the system was down and just took my name and number i understand its the company but you cant take interviews and then dont give feedback to the people who attended. they picked the phone up a few times and put it straight back down id rather it ring out!!

I think I had that happened once :( No, that's true, they should be more prepared, especially considering the amount of people who have applied, and went to the interviews; it's obvious that you're going to need a big team to deal with them. Though, of course, if they let everyone know what was going on as everything was processing then it may have not come down to this. But that might've cost a lot of money so I'm not sure.

were are you waiting to hear from? but i had a txt saying i needed safety boots before i even passed my security checks so there doing something wrong!!

That's weird, I've heard nothing about boots.

Well I'm waiting to hear back from anyone about the mail centre in Derby. Hopefully I'll get it sorted soon, seeming as most people have started already according to the receptionist there.

yea the txt said " it is getting close to your start date at royal mail, please remember that you need safety boots you will not be allowed on sites without these " that was on saturday an my checks only passed yesterday!!

Maybe the site's a bit slow to update. It was down over the weekend. I hope I don't need safety boots, they seem expensive ^^;
