Re: How to contact Angard
I had an interview in mid-late October and kept on at Angard during the CRB check until I got a result. Although I'm dubious having seen some of the comments on this forum, when the CRB was cleared I was told that I would definitely be starting on 28th November and the website says that a position has been offered. I've been trying to get hold of the Xmas team, but nobody will respond or the line is engaged. I haven't been told anything on clothes or footwear. Can anyone tell me if its just casual and if I need any kind of steel toe cap boots? (I hope not).
Must say this whole thing still seems strange. Never got a job before where an interview has consisted of checking documents with no questions asked...

Re: How to contact Angard
From what I understand, you just need normal shoes for working in the sorting area and they provide steel toe cap shoes if you're working in the fork lift area.
They asked me for my shoe size at the interview, but someone who's actually started work should be able to confirm that.

Re: How to contact Angard
Folks..I attended the interview in the mid October and managed to get everything fine..I even received a call from Angard on the 13th Nov and they confirmed my shift from 21st Nov to 6th Jan...They even sent me a mail as confirmation...I arrived at the Manchester mail centre right on time and was sent back home saying my name was not on list..I ve quit my current job once the confirmation mail was sent.I am trying to contact them but it wont go thru and each person I speak to says that they do not belong to the Christmas team and can do nothing about it..Never felt so pathetic before...Has anyone else faced the same problem..If so any resolutions...pleassssse do lemme know:)

Re: How to contact Angard
Just called this number:
0845 460 7318
The recording states that for calls regarding Xmas positions, calls should be made within 1-6 pm. Having said that though, I'll stress that the line in my experience as of late is always engaged, rings and gets no answers, or rings for a second and then says "All lines are busy". Oh and the xmas e-mail address doesn't work either. Pretty disgraceful customer service skills here.

Re: How to contact Angard
Just tried them again and chose Option 4 "Already working for Angard". Though they can''t deal with the Xmas stuff they did help me with info on where to send my P45 and dress code. Can't get an answer on whether I should already have my ID badge or it should be on site though...

I have been sent an email to state that I have been offered Christmas work in Dartford, however it states 1st December as start date and the hours of 6.30 to 2.30pm , however it does not state what days im working etc. I have other job interviews to attend and also have committments at weekends. Im not happy with Angard and I dont know whether or not to do it if I can contact them. Any thoughts from people

Re: How to contact Angard
I also attendend an interview with Angard this time it was Bradford on the 17th October at 09.00am, they had overbooked the appointments at the hotel where the interviews were held, with people queing along both sides of an upstairs corridor down two flights of stairs around the reception area and onto the street. When I finally got into the ballroom where the interviews were to be held they were even queing in there.
I had my interview and was given the provisional offer letter to start at 06.00 on the 28th November, I have kept an eye on the RM site and about a week ago I saw that the security checks had been passed, so I waited for the email, now it is only a few days to the supposed starting date, and I have not heard from them.
I rang the 01604 4629381 phone number this evening at 6.00pm and a young lady answered, and she told me they were looking for a shift for me, this company has been so shambolic it their recruitment process it beggers belief.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: How to contact Angard
I've finally gotten through to angard (phoning early seems to have worked where after lunch failed for me, but that was probably just luck) and they say they'll be sending emails out today and tomorrow confirming things... I'll believe it when I see it, but it's something. I talked to the sorting office I'm supposed to be going to and they don't have the list of who's working there yet, and were having trouble getting hold of angard
.
