THIS photograph was taken around noon on November 12 at the Falcon Close Royal Mail collection depot in Burton.

As you can see, there was rather a long line for those of us wanting our parcels.
As I stood I wondered how we'd all cope in December, when the line will no doubt be doubled, and why there is no shelter or, better still, a customer area large enough for 20 people to stand in at the same time.
Crazy taking into consideration the British weather.
I thought it was poor to imagine this scene on a winter’s morn, with elderly, disabled and even able-bodied folk stood out in the cold and wet.
Admittedly there was a sign asking customers to queue down the side of the building instead of blocking the vehicle access, but I assume that is for safety rather than comfort, as there is still no shelter or canopy over the walkway.
Maybe that would be a solution, not only to encourage us to stand in the right place but to give some incentive to do so during our 20-minute wait.
Come on Burton — aren't we now a big enough town to warrant some better customer services or standards of care at our only mail collection point? Bev Bird, Stapenhill
