NoSurrenderX wrote:If the deal was honoured properly by Royal Mail and not twisted out of all recognition we would be in a lot better place than millions of other people in the UK. £1000 lump sum and 6.9% pay rise over 3 years, more Saturdays off etc etc The big problem, as always is that Royal Mail never stick to these agreements and try to worm a way out of it.

When an "agreement" is not honoured in the way Royal Mail has shown strike action should be called. Its the best time of year to do it. Its the only weapon we have to show our feelings about how we have been conned, cheated and lied to. :dcfo
You were all for this deal 18 months ago NoSurrenderX...in fact you thought that anyone who couldn't see how great a deal it was must be...an imbecile. :left:
Dont try and reason with the imbeciles they cant and never will see that this is a good deal to where we were 6 months ago. Nor will they see that people all around us are losing their jobs, being forced to work less hours, no chance of a pay rise let alone a 7% one over the next 3 years and guaranteed full time employment with a shorter working week, more Saturdays off and a £1000 lump sum. All this is really wasted on these people.
Now what or who exactly has you back on the site banging the strike drum?
I'm assuming people are still losing their jobs, being forced to work less hours...you'll get your 7(6.9%) over 3 years guaranteed full time employment with a shorter working week, more Saturdays off and a £1000 lump sum.
Why the long face? :cuppa
The deal as its written and as it should been implemented isnt a bad deal, not great but not bad. If all that it promised had been delivered I would of been happy so I stand by my post 18 months ago.

Amen

When looking at a deal you have to imagine both scenarios.
What will we gain if the agreement goes well and what will we lose if it goes badly wrong.
You also have to consider how the membership will feel if it goes pear shaped, who they will blame and what position it will leave you in to fight it.
Some of us saw that coming and some choose to stick their fingers in their ears and think happy thoughts.

Shalom.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Ever the optomist me, hoping that the union will finally stand up for us mere mortals, hence the reason I posted the thread....... Problem though...... This wonderfull document is actually called Guidance and Reference for reps, now if I wanted to "guide" someone or get them to "refer" to something I would firstly give them the damn document :mad :mad .

After speaking to two unit reps who are actually at the front line (also from different areas), neither of them have actually received the said document or even seen the damn thing, so CWU higherarcy how in Gods name can they do either :confused :confused

I have refered them to this very informative site so they can actually see the thing......

How many more unit reps set aside union members have not been furnished with the document ??????..... Another half cocked atempt at being a trade union representing its membership it seems, perhaps too busy recruiting UK mail lads   ......
