No postal workers, no postal system, a backlog that only increases with each day we're in dispute. :Very Happy

The pressure'll be on management, not us. :Very Happy

i agree but we have to face the fact that next week they plan to implement later starts in DOs. They plan to do it in Mail Centre night shifts from the middle of Oct.

This means we have NO time to waste in DOs with a little time to plan in Mail Centres

I say we should carry on the rolling strikes in MCs, RDCs, MDECs, Logistics, HWDC etc but do something a little different in DOs

Lets just say that at the moment your work 5am-1pm and RM by executive action change it to 6-2. The union could call every delivery postal worker to strike continuously for the last hour of their duty every day. This would (a) show that we do not recognise their new times, (b) only cost delivery staff 5 hours per week pay and (c) result in over 90,000 cut offs every day

We have to stand tall and be counted now, lets hope a few of them strike breakers actually realise whats going on now and every one sticks together, i know later starts suit some people but not all, hey we joined this job for the hours well i did, the moneys always been s**t but hours suit me it works for the family but now it f*cks it, rolling strikes again different day each week, we should all be prepared to lose 20% wages and fight for whats right and kick the AA s :cfo :lfo out hopefully goverment will take note and sack these pair of incompetant w*nkers who do not live in the real world :no no

ITS THE ONLY WAY NOW THERE IS NO GOING BACK ROLLING STRIKES WERE GOOD BUT THEY KNOW THE IMPACT THEY HAVE AND A FEW OF OUR LADS ARE STILL ON CONDUCT FOR NOT CROSSING PICKET LINES AND NOW KNOW THE EFFECT THEY CAN TAKE STEPS TO AVOID IT

Rolling strikes

Post by chayoliver »

Yeh i know what you mean about rolling strikes it does work but when one office is out 1 day and another office is in and vice versa it plays into royal mails propaganda by suggesting the strike is very low so i think every office in the country 1 day a week but different days each week eg friday one week tuesday the next week this would hit them hard plus do your job properly
NO coming in early
NO use of own cars
NO extendeds (CUT OFF)
NO speeding
And take your breaks as sceduled these simple steps would finnish them
NO SURRENDER

we must win this fight , if we dont we would be as well flinging in the towel, because if they think they have won, forget any sort of conditions that we have fought for all these years.

I was never for a strike in the first place, I honestly believe if we all did our job properly including going out in the vans it would have eventually been enough. The problem is there are too many (especially in my office) who don't give a damn about anyone else. We need solidarity more than ever and a work to rule including an overtime ban should be implemented straight away, if that proves not to be enough then a WTR and rolling strikes should be enough. The big thing in swansea is too many people would rather use their cars and even go over their time without booking just for a quiet life. We have a couple of major bullies for DOM's but the majority don't seem interested in their right to complain, they just keep their heads down and get finished. Then we have the brown noses who get all the overtime, mostly because they never complain, never say no and do just what the DOM wants. Don't get me started on the office grasses, our managers have the lucky knack of knowing just what's been said in meetings or when their away from the floor!!
The union needs to be more pro active in this and especially in the smaller units. At the moment we are too divded as a workforce and divided we'll fall.
