Yes it is £6.58 for the night shift. I would not do it for that no way! I read somewhere once it is unhealthy to work at night.Leonard69 wrote:Anybody able to confirm what they have been paid for night work? I signed up for night shift at the interview because it was meant to be 6 nights a week at £8.11 per hour and £10.51 on Sunday nights. I was meant to start on Dec 4th but got a phone call on November 16th at lunchtime to start that night. I've had no written confirmation from angard and my application is still at 'Security checks passed' status. My partner was meant to be working the same shift but she's been emailed to tell her to work earlies from November 22nd which she can't do cos we've only got one car and she's still in her other job for 2 more weeks. If they're also going to pay us £6.58 an hour as suggested above then I am going to tell them precisely where they can stick their job and I will take them through the County Court if they don't pay me for the 3 nights I've done. I've worked for 40 years including for about 6 temping agencies and never come across such an arrogant and incompetent organisation in my life. By the way I found out on Friday night that there would not be any weekend work as RM had a full weekend team so we weren't needed but I only found this out from one of the permanent staff, the manager just said we were to come back in on Monday night and not work over the weekend.

thanks for the responses. It looks like they are not afraid to be in breach of the contracts that they offered at the interview. If I can confirm this I will consult my solicitor and post the advice I receive on here.

That's terrible- try not to let it get you down. It sounds like this might be a mix up between Angard Staffing & Royal Mail (each have separate duties recruiting the Christmas Staff) and they need to make sure you are security cleared before you can come to work. Obviously, they also need to make sure your H&S induction is in place for your own welfare & that of others.
Hope you have luck with getting it sorted out soon.

Re: ANGARD<<>> A TOTAL AND UTTER DISGRACE
To everyone waiting for a reply to the Royal Mail website regarding Christmas work, do not hold your breath, My friends grandson has passed his security checks and on the 9th November he had an e-mail stating the Christmas team would be intouch the following week to sort out his hours. Today we are still waiting. I have found the phone number to ring them and was told they have had a problem with their website, OMG how many people have missed there start dates because of it. They also hd mobile numbers and e- mail addresses, they cannot all have been down together. Do not wait for them to get in touch with you, they are mindless, useless imbaciles. They should not be paid in washers let alone money. Royal Mail wants to improve its service to the public, this is a joke, send a message to the chairman of Royal Mail and let him know whats going on.

I wouldn't bother, you would have to let him know he was Chairman of Royal Mail first.Patsy LLiversage wrote:send a message to the chairman of Royal Mail and let him know whats going on.
We don't call him Donald Who? for nothing.
You could try Moya Greene Chief Executive Officer.
There may be a way to send her a message on this website here https://www.myroyalmail.com/moyasview/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ....
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
