Text saying start date soon??

Post by Jeansybaby »

Just got a text saying
"it's getting close to your start date please remember you need safety boots you will not be allowed on site without these"

My start date isn't for 3 weeks and I haven't even passed the checks yet.

Do Royal Mail know something I don't?
Or is a text 3 weeks in advance..normal

I got a text on Friday afternoon saying 'congratulations we would like to offer you a job -log onto your email. The email told me to start on Monday 21st November - this is a week earlier than my provisional job offer, and different hours.I have passed the security checks (No earlier email to tell me this, but I had been checking the progress of my app on the RM site)

Possibly if your gonna be working at a RM sorting office, then you may not be allowed on site without safety boots, i work in an outhouse used by RM for the xmas period only, and 1 in 3 workers are wareing trainors,, but only workers with safety boots are allowed to unload trailors.

If you got a text and also an email of your start date,, Go to the site on that date if the start time and date is acceptable to you.

It takes us weeks to get ours guys.

Thanks for the reply john, i have safety boots so thats no problem it's just 3 weeks is a little fast, especialy when compared with how slow the rest of the process has been, i was worried they may have changed my start date without telling me.

Dress code is casual dress and "if" you have safety shoes, please bring those with you.

Yeah that's what it says in my email too. I'm not going to buy my own until I know for sure that I've actually got a job there. You'd think being told you've been hired was enough..

Hi,

I received a text on Saturday morning, saying the same thing, but at the (shambolic) "intererview", I was told that I would be contacted by phone to tell me IF I was successful, and the details of the start date/shift I would be working.

I've checked my application status, and that just shows the 2 texts sent on Saturday morning. I've also emailed Angard asking wth is going on, but have had no reply at all....is there an alternative email address to contact these people?

Does anyone know how the process works?

For any queries relating to interview slots not relating to Christmas casual registration slots, please contact angard.employee@reedglobal.com
01604 629381 - I was given this number after calling the main 0845 number. Apparently its the 'Christmas Team'.
Try these numbers: 01604 818813 / 01604634319.
