How does payroll work at Angard???

Post by kkodali »

Hi,

I am working in Peterborough and just got my first week's pay. I work Mon-Fri 2200hrs-0600hrs. I got paid for 32 hours, which I am not able to workout. Does anybody know if payroll run Mon-Sun or Fri-Thurs. I have worked Mon-Fri, 5days and 7 hours a day (less 1 hr break) which should be 35 hours. Have called the Angard and they say that they will callback as there is no direct number for the payroll department. Anybody's help is much appreciated...

Got my first payslip today a well.
Despite having worked for 5 days (Mon-Fri) only got paid for 4 days, 8 hours each day.
Angard blame RMG for missing day, RMG blame Angard.
Angard said "have paid all of you 32 hours for 4 days, timesheet missing for other day, as not advised by RMG of break details, this will be adjusted in next payment as breaks are not paid".
Incidentally tax calc is incorrect as no Free Pay has been allowed, 20% tax deducted from full gross amount. (Tax Code OT should 745L)

Sounds like Angard seem to be having the same "problem" with anumber of RMG sites, coincidence ?

Need to check next payslip to make sure that missing hours are paid, that correct reduction for breaks is made and that tax is correctly calculated, my advice is check very carefully.

Did you not get a welcome pack or anything? telling you where to send your p45 or p46?

Never received a "welcome pack" before I started, only the 2 attachments to the email confirming the job offer, one being the contract the other being the Angard RMG Induction Booklet.

Despite several people asking about what was happening re P45s and P46s, no-one RMG or Angard did anything.

So I and several other people downloaded the P46 from the HMRC site and handed these to the RMG management to send to Angard.

Assuming Angard received them, they did not process them in first week's payment as tax code is incorrect.

If no-one gives you a P46 I would download one from the HMRC website, complete side one, and hand to RMG mangement and ask them to make sure it gets to Angard.

I do not understand why all this lot is not sorted out its out of order. You would think everything would be getting sorted out with all the casuals starting for Christmas but appears not.

Hopefully these problems we are all having with ANGARD are only happening because this is there first year doing this for RM, and since they have had over 110,000 applications for 18,000 casual jobs that maybe the case. basicaly there heads are up there arsses at the moment.
hopefully next year when the whole proccess begins again they will have all these things running a lot smoother ,, and with a far better pay structure in place,, maybe not as much as RM staff,, but at least an acceptable/respectable hourly rate for unsociable hours.

Get it sorted dont let them get away with it. It should of been 37.5 like your first week simple as that.

What mail centre are you at? or are you at a sorting office?

I have sent an email to AngardPayroll.Queries@reedglobal.com asking about how the payroll works in the case of night shift and below is the reply

Night shift hours go from Friday to Thursday, so any night hours worked on Friday 11th November, will be paid in with the next pay week. Hope this helped : )

The address to send the P45 to is -
Angard Payroll
First Floor Suite
27A High Street
Andover
SP10 1LJ

Kind Regards

Angard Payroll

They have staff putting smiley faces in emails? No wonder they are a complete shambles.

That's easy: the director pockets the money and you work.

What's not to understand here?

In your contract is written that your Royal Mail Manager will tell you how much you earn. And he most likely has told you nothing, so you get nothing.

Everything according to contract.

Credit where it's due: have been paid for Wed and Thurs nights last week as worked but not Friday as explained above. Taxed on emergency code as I started too quickly to get them a P45, not their fault. Odd thing is that they haven't deducted any NI. Paid at the rate offered in the advert. More worrying is that my shift have been sent home early for 2 nights by local management, assuming we don't get paid for that time it's a 50p per hour reduction on those nights on top of what is a poor rate of pay to start with. Of course the contract is "as and when required" so in theory management could send you home after 2 or even 1 hours and only pay you for the time worked. I've temped for a lot of office firms before and they've always stuck to the full hours even if the overall contract hasn't had a specific length. Is early lay-off normal in industrial work?
