Unpaid by Angard

Post by unpaid »

Why do I have to wait weeks to be paid? Why is there no-one in Angard who can be contacted about missing wages. If you are signed up for Xmas casual work you may only work a couple of days a week and then wait weeks to be paid. If you are on benefits this job will do you more harm than good. But are RM HR much better? :hmmmm
I don't know about you. But I've had problems with them from time to time, over the years. Including the time when I'd taken some unpaid special leave, and had to wait 4 weeks, after I returned, before they finally paid me! :hmmmm That's the problem with Angard being owned by RM. It's run by incompetants.

I couldn't have put it better myself! I spent quite a while on the Dole in the early 90's, and it was a horrible experience. That's why there are so many companies like Angard/RM, who try to pay as little as possible (minimum wage), and can't be bothered to treat their staff like Humans. Because they know that there are so many people desperate to get off benefits, to regain their dignity. I've never understood how some people can stay on benefits for decades, and still hold their heads up in public. But there are some.

Starting work for RM last Christmas was the best thing that happened last year after spending months on the dole a horrible life draining experience made worse by having worked all my life since leaving school (I'm 50). Working gives you a purpose, puts money in your pocket and keeps the wolf from the door so to speak. The added benefits are you talk to people, interact feel your part of something!

Unfortunately in this day and age greedy blood sucking corporate greed has taken over and even when you find a descent little job someone want to exploit you, suck the life out of you, pay you 16% less than what you were earning doing the same job, same hours as a few months ago. Don't like it then the Job Centres over there....NEXT!

BUT...if it pays more than £70pw then anything is better than dealing with being unemployed. Even cutting and tipping for 8 hours on a Sunday for £6.48ph

Come on! I spent over a year on the Dole, but finally got a job. I can understand people spending months, or even years on Benefits. But decades? :hmmmm :no no
If someone's on Benefits for that long, and isn't Disabled, or caring for a Disabled relative. Then they're obviously not being realistic in their choice of vacancies to apply for, or aren't putting in the effort. I used to spend hours every day reading every paper (dedicated jobs papers, and normal ones) at the Library (I couldn't afford to get them myself), and later at the Job Club. And writing dozens of Spec letters per day at the Job Club (I couldn't send as many before that, because of the cost). But nowadays, you can do all that searching on-line. Libraries provide free Internet access, if you can no longer afford your own Broadband. And if the Job Club still exists, they'll no doubt provide Internet access, as well as the free stamps and stationary.

Does anyone have a postal address for Angard? I am still unpaid and wish to raise an action in the Small Claims Court as it's been six weeks now and I'm almost £1000 out of pocket.

Are all the other staff you work with in the same boat?

It's:
Name & Registered Office:
ANGARD STAFFING SOLUTIONS LIMITED
100 VICTORIA EMBANKMENT
LONDON
EC4Y 0HQ
Company No. 05770579

Here's a link to the details (kindly provided by Fishtank) : http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... se#p399314" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Whether you'd get a response to a letter from that address, I don't know. It's just the registered address (the same one as Royal Mail), but I presume it'd be the one the Lawyers will need.
