Can't be bothered
I'm just wondering whilst we all wait for details of any deal that has or hasn't been done between the RM and CWU, if all those who are in the union but don't support it, who can't be arsed voting in a ballot, who ignore a democratic decision by union members, and who come into work whilst their colleagues are striking, will be happy to accept any increased offer should we get one?
No doubt they will not be bothered voting on any deal put to members!

All the rumour so far has been of significant and above inflation pay increases.
Is there anything to support this,or is this just wishful thinking, what happened to "it's not about the money"
Everything ultimately comes down to pounds, shillings and pence, and every man has his price, but at what cost?
Are Royal Mail testing the resolve, and for many has it simply been about the money all along.
Worryingly the union appear not to be listening to their membership,so they,ve done a 'deal' and if it proves to be
financially attractive then it will gain national exposure and benefit them more in the current climate (NHS/prison service etc all fighting for similar deals)than it will us.
Why do a clandestine deal and then tell the membership what's acceptable?
Yes the business does need to modernise, that's fact, and anyone who believes that the whole issue and raft of changes
will go away,is simply misguided.
But the problem is the conditions that RM want to impose, just what will we concede to gain financially,i mean what's
acceptable to me is simply unacceptable to someone else.
The job has to change and it's up to us to determine how much.

£400
Where dose the £400 a week come from can't see it myself , but it would be nice and if it is right what have we got to do for it. Like has been wrten are we in this just for the money or was it all the conditions set in with the pay deal. In any negotiations it is give and take so we will have to give as Iam sure RM will gladly take

I agree. If there is a figure of £400 floating around it is likely to be an 'aspirational' figure to
be achieved over the next 3-5 years.
Wasn't there a target of £300pw at the time of the Way Forward Agreement which took 5 years
to reach - by which time it was too little.
Let's wait and see and not speculate or listen to rumours.

to be honest i expect a small increase on the pay offer at best
then it will be a case of what else has been organised regarding the changes.
most likely an agreement to discuss X change and another for X change.
RM will want to keep the buisness running whilst cutting back anywhere they can.
better for them to let this die down and try and sneak things through where they can once its settled

Re: Can't be bothered
Rep I know is going to take a collection box into his WTL and suggest that all the strike breakers should put their payrise in it as he said "you should not benefit from the losses made by others".prowler wrote:I'm just wondering whilst we all wait for details of any deal that has or hasn't been done between the RM and CWU, if all those who are in the union but don't support it, who can't be arsed voting in a ballot, who ignore a democratic decision by union members, and who come into work whilst their colleagues are striking, will be happy to accept any increased offer should we get one?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
