Royal Mail and union 'move closer to resolution' in pay and conditions dispute

Published: 09 September 2007
The Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union are thought to be moving closer to a resolution of their dispute this weekend ahead of today's deadline. The union rejected a 2.5 per cent pay increase in April, and has been seeking a rise in line with inflation as well as greater consultation over modernisation plans. It is also demanding better working conditions for the 127,000 workforce.
The union was thought to be prepared to accept a rise of 3 per cent if the other conditions were met.

The whole membership wants no strings but in reality we all KNOW that there will be strings attached to the deal if we are honest!disgruntledpostie1 wrote:Well at least we agree on the no stringsBELIAL wrote:With no strings i' d settle for 60 pieces.
Then once the deal is there it's our own personal choice as to whether or not it is good enough for us!

AHH we are so grateful, and easily pleased. Personal choices are easily manipulated , especially if we undervalue our contributioncornishrep wrote:lovejoy wrote:The whole membership wants no strings but in reality we all KNOW that there will be strings attached to the deal if we are honest!disgruntledpostie1 wrote:Well at least we agree on the no stringsBELIAL wrote:With no strings i' d settle for 60 pieces.
