Royal Mail and union 'move closer to resolution' in pay and conditions dispute

The Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union are thought to be moving closer to a resolution of their dispute this weekend ahead of today's deadline. The union rejected a 2.5 per cent pay increase in April, and has been seeking a rise in line with inflation as well as greater consultation over modernisation plans. It is also demanding better working conditions for the 127,000 workforce.

The union was thought to be prepared to accept a rise of 3 per cent if the other conditions were met.

For me it's not about the money but all the strings that are attached which would amount to a pay cut :mad :so there and I'm prepared to vote no to any agreement if it includes any of the strings (and if it doesn't include MDEC pay parity).

For me it's about the money and the strings. I ain't a registered charity, don't get no tax breaks for subsidising B Sky B or Barclays.

In my ofice plenty are not fussed about the money,its the later starts, team working , covering people of sick and on leave without overtime, more door to dustbins without any extra money.
