As has been said. Put them in and if you have to cut off, cut off!

In theory there is no such thing as 'making time' any more so what does it matter what you do when you are there? D2Ds or proper mail makes no difference does it?

Work your hours, cut off at your finishing time, let your lino panic about getting it covered, go home and reeeeeeelax! :nana
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

dear collegues ,

u already know mail volumes have fallen over last years. But our management's fat salary has remained same over the years. In order to compensate declining mail volumes we have now introduced unlimited d2d. unlimited fun for u posties and fat cut of profits for us. prep them thru ur frames until u cannot see a single letter and shove them thru the doors.

with regards,

Management

When you have doubles on your frame rather than it being a help its more of a hinderance
Know what you mean Eastie. :no no I look on it as taking 10-15 mins a day to throw them off so that's say an extra hours pay a week. What's that £8ish...so add that to your PT pro-rata payment of £10 and it's nearly up to what they pay a FT for Delivery Supplement (although they could also get the extra hours pay  ) Although I don't see a lot of our FTers throwing off daily, most do them all on mass! So your DOM is taking money out of your pocket, for a change. :whistle

If you pick up a Delivery Duty that's really fun...The idea of throwing off Columns was it spread the D2Ds throughout your bags. If your "Prepper" has thrown them all off, thinking Monday's normally light..and it's not...every bag is bulging at the seams! :arrrghhh And you can't refuse them as over-weight as you don't see them until you get to your bag drops! :arrrghhh
You could say discuss it with the "Prepper" but they basically please themselves...they see it as "Their" additional Duty, not "Your" Duty! :no no I'm seriously considering putting in a Stage 1 Grievance against some of these idiots...you can only ask them so many times....but you could imagine what that would do for Office Morale!

While putting up a 25 hrs contract duty this morning i asked when we were going to get some prep time on our own duties to get the 4 dds i had , well it was a tuesday and 8 am and nothing in my own frame! The doms reply was that those households are not real mail  well in that case if not real mail will just not do any today as real mail is busy :Very Happy

I realise Prepping two Duties is a pain for FTers...perhaps you can get a link to the Agreement, from someone on here, print it off your computer and give it to your Manager...if he thinks they're not real mail perhaps he'd like to tell his Boss that! :Very Happy

Been on park & loopy for a while. Our mensa certified planner has decided that D2D will be done in loops! Try getting all that in 2 bags on a trolley never mind the mail or packets, especially when some loops are 197 del points. You really could'nt make it up, could you?

My day off is usually a Monday - sometimes I get a load of D2Ds (5 or 6, or awkward shapes - anyone get the national trust leaflet things, with the window cut out of them, that fell apart when pushed throuhg a letterbox?) that day that look like an arse to deliver and I just think "Oh no".

Prep and deliver 20 percent of them each day and treat them as live mail. Royal Mail expect You to be doin this so then stay out and book if You late back or break off at Your time.Dont let Your managers problems become Yours :speak to the hand

You say treat them as live mail, but it tends to be standard practice where I am that you only take them if theres other mail for the house, then take the ones that are left (very few - very rare a house will not get any post all week) out on Saturday.

That can only work if you have only 1 address per slot otherwise it get's confusing.
