Times of induction

Post by JANETB »

When you apply for a part time position with Royal Mail why do they give you a different induction time then the hours you stated you could work. I stated I wanted to work part time and start at 7.00am, they then phoned me and said I had to start my induction at 5.30am in a couple of weeks, they are not interested whether you can make it at that time or not. If you cant make it you dont get to do the job, do they not realise if you have not got a car you cant get there. To get a taxi where i live would cost about £20, thats more than I would get paid, they dont seem to consider that not everybody can get there and they wont let you change induction start time. There attitude is if you cant make induction no job!!

They don't care end of story! Plenty more waiting in the wings who would walk in the dark on their hands and knees for the chance of a shift.

Sorry just being flippant but honestly they don't care!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

it'll only be for the one day, it could end up being worth it think of it as a little investment or you can bus if it if it's possible.

No Bus at this time in morning as I live miles away and would have to catch 3 buses, it would already take me over 2 hours to get there for 7.00 I have to leave the house at 4.45 am which would get me there for about 6.40 so I just dont know how I will get there, might be worth just having to pay £20 for a taxi if its only one day, but obviously Angard arent bothered how far i will be coming.
