I have heard from a very good source....
Reduction in working week to 30 hours
4 days extra leave
3 days special leave allowance per year with no questions asked
Pension indexed linked to Royal Mail chairman or Member of Parliament salary
10% rise, flowing to allowances and backdated to apr 07
well now time to wake up...
likely deal
4% pay deal linked to modernization...we know what that means!
As per usual NO BACK DATING, reducing award in % terms
unlimited households
need i go on

4% and £400 plus back pay hmmmm!!

I DONT THINK SO SUM HOW?! Not after our new PM announced no increase in pay for public sector workers and condemned any strike action! All sounds a bit right of centre eh? lABOUR MEANS WORK- GRAFT ETC... The labour party
killed off any ideas of socialism to get elected and renamed themselves New labour !!!

These two are pure business men they see only profit not the health and wealth of their workers ( as they can be replaced ), so be positve sure, but bear in mind what lies underneath. If 2.5% was breaking the bank as far as Royal Mail is concerned then what will 4% do ? Probably means one less holiday for the chaiman and friends lol javascript:emoticon('')

Saw article in Finanacial Mail that says the talks will continue until Tuesday. Anyone know about this?

Too optimistic. 2008/9/10 we will still be talking about this deal and how the wording of the current deal will be interpreted by both sides (as with way forward agreement which is still being deciphered at work place level).

Presumably there quoting the original date of TUESDAY Sep 4th,it doesn't surprise me as no-one in our office had
heard the talks had been extended!
