I used to work with a few who would give xmas cards to the people they delivered to so they would remember to leave them a tip... lol

Yes get a duty in a decent area. Last year was the best for me after delivering in the same area for 6 years - £25.

A reserve delivering only a few miles away in a leafy suburb got nearly £300.

I am personally very grateful, and a little embarrassed when I get a tip.

When i had my own walk, gradually started to build up tips. Always got took off it at xmas to do a parcel van. A lot of my customers used to wait until i came back to give me a tip. Not a hope in hell this time as we are now on park on loop.

On a new country duty since feb and not sure what tips I will get this year. I have in the last few Xmas done very well well over £200 and always do well for sacks o tatties and the odd pheasant. With that snow last year did will for my supper at a few farms. I have in years gone by giving cards to customers as they have been good to me and I know a lot of them outside work. If you look after them they will do the same I find in our neck of the woods.
