T.O.B (Time option bonus)
Anybody out there had any dealings with the loss of T.O.B
when moving to other mail centres or functions, under the mail centre closure programme. I know we are one of the few remaining MC with this bonus and any attempt to ask the question to RM gets a big fat blank ( trying to sweep it under the carpet).

Re: T.O.B (Time option bonus)
It's a bonus that has been around for twenty + years but RM offered payments to Delivery functions and Distribution to get rid of it on mass which they did. MC (processing) kept it, but as time went on each MC individually also let this bonus, go for a cash lump payment. Our MC has also offered payments for this in the past which we refused and more recently( last 5 yrs) have offered it on an individual basis, some staff have taken it. I havn't, along with many others and so we receive the time of 1hr 30 mins a week off our duty time ( 18mins a day on my 5 days)
. Our MC is to close
so we have asked untill blue in the face about what happens to our TOB but RM want this to just go away quietly but we won't let it
. So I am trying to find out if there is anyone else out there still with it or have accepted anything when their MC closed.

The MC I work in is closing on the notice boards regarding info on closing there is a roumor board were you can write questions / roumors and RM take them away weekly and write a reply/answer .... So I'm guessing mikeymoo's office will have a roumor board ?? We asked question about TB reply was ... Time bonus will be addressed with the Cwu reps when final duty options are negotiated !!

Re: T.O.B (Time option bonus)
Graffi, that sounds like a cop out by RM, when they say they will address it in new duty sets do you think they will let the staff from out closing office have extra time out of our duty's, yet the staff in the office we will be moved to get nothing. This will cause RM all sorts of problems in the office remaining open. Sounds like they just want it to dissapear for you as well. I don't trust much we are being told via rumour boards etc, we are being kept pretty much in the dark. I need to find some office that has already been through it and see what happened to them regarding TOB.

Re: T.O.B (Time option bonus)
Update on TOB question. We had four processing staff offered a move to a delivery office before the office closure plan. These four asked about thier TOB before the move and were still given a blank with the DOM saying he knew nothing about it
. Rumour boards and WTL meetings also draw a blank no questions answered !!! Would like to know if it's a change in contract if offered another job in RM without our TOB ( 1hr 30 mins extra to work ) and if this is legal???

Re: T.O.B (Time option bonus)
If you volunteer to move from one function to another you forfeit your TOB. You should be able to take the TOB with you as you have not moved function but location forced upon you by RM. Your Area Rep should be addressing this for you.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Cheers Graffi & Postman
This is somthing we may be able to get our teeth into.
Will follow up with our Area Rep and see where we go with it.
We won't let them try to make TOB just disapear.
