Royal Mail reforms will see post delivered as late as 4pm across Sussex.
The latest changes to deliveries have hit Worthing, but the company has said the whole county will eventually be affected.
Opponents say the elderly and small businesses will be hardest hit.
Royal Mail says the new methods will reduce injuries to postmen delivering bulky items and will keep prices low.
Residents in Newhaven and Polegate complained when the same system was introduced in August because of missed deliveries.
The changes by Royal Mail will mean new delivery routes and could see post delivered later each day.
The latest delivery time will be 3pm in urban areas and 4pm in rural areas.
A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “Many customers will continue to get their mail by lunchtime.
“The time customers receive mail will depend on where they live on the new delivery route.
"This may be later or possibly earlier than current delivery times.
“Eventually this will be rolled out across Sussex but we do not have a definite timescale.”
The latest postcodes to be affected by the changes are BN11, BN12, BN13 and BN14.
See the extended special report in today's Argus.

i,m totally amazed that this whole sorry fiasco has,nt been reported to the media by now. some of the lads have pictures/videos on their phones of the isles full of parcels and mail and d2ds thats been lying around for days. the volume of d2d returns due to go back because of failure is unbelieveable. last christmas, the whole place resembled bandah aceh after the tsunami.boogyman wrote:3pm and 4pm!!!!!!!!!!! between 5-6pm in our office thats if their lucky that the postie wants o.t oh! then you may get it between 7-8pm ( day late) by one of the managers pets. its all a fek up! pity the papers ain't finding out more from us posties to show the real picture.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Post at 4pm plan for Sussex
I've delivered mail at 7 in the past on my third walk of the day, I quite regularly deliver packets at
6 or 7, senior management don't seem to have a clue what's going on at the shop floor, and its always the postie that gets the blame from the customers, we get it from both sides when all we're trying to do is our best, it's just never enough.
Does it matter when people get their mail anyway, most of its charity begging letters anyway.
