2pm till 10pm,,, always loved the backshift m8,, even better no i can slip into the pub for a pint on the way home,, used to work 2 till 10 when the pubs closed at 10. llllllllllllooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggg time ago .

lol mate, do you know how many days a week we work? said mon to sat , but im guessing you get a day off during the week or do u work 6 days from 7?

I got told the late shift is now 14:30 - 22:30 tuesday - saturday.

said 6 days a week m8 mon till sat.. itl probably vary at diff depots tho.

Contacted Angard as I am looking to start in Preston Depot on the 28th, have all the contract details documents have been checked etc. I am now being told only through mye checking there website that I have document's missing (which ones they are not sure) if that makes any sense!. So as you can imagine not happy if someone has lost my passport, driving licence information etc. I specifically made sure that i had all the information was there and now through there incompetency not sure if Im even going to be starting. All this for a temp job its disgusting. Royal mail should do there own assesment days at least you know where you stand. Lets hope they get back to me within the week (yes a week) to see if my scans suddenly appear

I'm also due to start at Preston but my account still says Interview Booked, not so much as a glance at my security info it seems.

I get a different story every time I speak to Angard. "You'll hear from us in 3 weeks", "Just turn up for your first shift", "The provisional offer is meaningless", "It's taking a long time to clear the security checks as we've so many applicants". They don't seem to know their arse from their elbow.

Yet they were quick enough to inform me (24hrs) that I couldn't be hired as flexible resource because I had already signed up to be a Xmas Temp (...I wish) as they need to know the numbers for Xmas.

I'm not clearing my diary for December just yet for this job, that's for sure.

I am starting in PRESTON on the 22nd.

You all need to ring this number 01604629381 and say to them please can you confirm my start date. I rang it yesterday and got told the 22nd is when I can start then shortly after that I received an email to confirm it.

When you get through to an advisor on that number, you will get asked to confirm your name and they will asked for your postcode I think the reason why they ask for these details is so then they can find you on the system.

And on the Royal Mail website it now says the following:-

Status: HIRED AND START DATE AGREED

Apparently I have supplied them with my wrong address which I have lived for most of my time so Im not impressed good luck if you do get taken on, think I will be better looking for a proper job !

Reading these stories I can't help but worry if i'll actualy have a job or not this christmas
I attended my interview on the 26th of October and got a letter with a provisional offer letter stating to start on the 5th of december, they said they would contact me within 3 weeks to confirm but if i didn't to turn up anyway which sounds bizarre.

However going though this thread, I wonder if I should take the initiative and ring them first?
