I can think of a long list of people who are and were bad for this company.
Someone who will sit back and watch the whole shambles unfold comes way,way down the list of culpability.
Any mirrors in your house rod or are you guilt free?
Are you a 110% man? :cuppa

imo it's quite often the people who have been with royal mail for years who are the problem....remembering "the good old days" when the job was easy and you finished early every day and didn't work anywhere near your full hours but expected to be paid for them.....welcome to the real world!!!
The job is not for everyone.....if it's so bad you know what your options are....don't bring the rest of your colleagues down and think about the customers....i know i do and am proud to show it..

Got it wrong they are not his customers they are royal fails they employ him to deliver the mail from 00.0 to 00.0 during those hours he delivers what he can without runnunig around now when that time is up and you haven't finished it's your choice to cut off or deliver the rest on o/t .Now with all thats gone on in the last year loss of share money , revisions etc pushing you to the limit and over it why should you care if it fails ? granted we'd all like to be able to deliver it all and in the real world where expectations of a realistic work load would enable this but as we can all see through the revisions that have taken place blood does not flow easily from a stone...... proud maybe foolish jurys out on that one !!!

obviously not on p/l yet
my hours are 6.30 - 2.30 if i did all they are asking i would be finished about 5pm everyday thats not xmas time either so add at least an hour on .
dim can go and f**k himself if he thinks i am doing it for him to get his bonus

I think we all went the extra mile over the past 2 years of bad weather. I would still like to go home every day knowing that all my customers mail was delivered safe and sound by me And i still could if i had a delivery which was no greater than 3 hrs.
However i am not a fool and i do know my physical limits and i am afraid that these new extended duties will exceed my limits over the xmas pressure, and thats before you account for bad weather taking an effect.

So to save me having to go sick halfway through i have simply been honest and told them it wont be possible for me to accept the 20 hrs SA they have offered. Of course i will do my best to deliver what i can during my normal working hours but at a sensible pace.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Every year for the past 23 :hmmmm i think it is, we get offered a SA OT package for delivering the xmas mail. The last 2 years its been 20 hours paid over the 2 weeks pressure at so much a day. The rep signs it and by doing so we have agreed that by xmas eve the offfice will be clear of all xmas mail. The only get out is the weather.

Now my first year (1988) we got 29 hours but its dropped down year after year. It used to be a good deal as you never went over the paid OT and if you had a bad day you would more than square it by the weekend.

Last year i think i booked something like 28 hours in total (inc the 20) and was doing 12 hour days.

The reason i want it to fail is for the well being off all my colleagues. Whether they are 20 or 60 we have had a year from hell. Honestly if this carries on someone will die on delivery, its that bad. Had someone faint during the summer on a saturday and no manager was contactable till the monday. Last winter staff were returning gone 6pm on rurals. They have no phone signal out there but still the management f**k off at 2.30pm every day and dont give a toss about where THERE staff are. I'd much rather the whole system goes tits up over xmas than a fellow colleague dies to prove a point to managers that ignore all our problems.

Last year i saw one postie come back from delivery around 4pm and throw up in the yard because he was that wacked. It was madness with people staying out for up to 6 hours in minus temps. The first sign of snow and teachers wont even make the trip to work.

After the s**t I've had to deal with from my Manager over the last year, and due to the fact it took me almost an hour to cover the 6 miles to get to work last xmas due to snow and ice...trust me, the first sign of snow and I won't be risking my car or my life to deliver DSA, Mailsort and other crap that people don't want this year. It helps that I live halfway up a rather steep hill too...I mean, I'll never get my car up it :Very Happy
