Hired Start date agreed?????

Post by adamwatson »

Hey everyone, don't suppose anybody else has this message on there royal mail site, do they? For some reason they seem to think they have given me a start date.... emailed them...phoned them..no one seems to know. All i want is an actual start date. Anybody know when manual data entry keyers start in Stockport?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Same situation - copy of my post under "How to Contact Angard" -

My problem is a little different.

I attended an interview/assessment for Christmas Casual in Stockport. I was told I had passed and would be contacted soon. That was on 4th October.

A few weeks ago the status in the "My Applications" section on the I-GRASP site changed to "HIRED AND START DATE AGREED". The problem is that no-one has contacted me and I have no idea when the start date is. It was mentioned when I went for interview that it could be around the 15th November.

It is now 8th November and getting close. I need to give notice to sort childcare out so am getting a bit worried. Have tried to call the 0845 numbers but get told to call an 01604 number. When I do that I get told to call the 0845 number.

Help !

Yeah, in the same situation here - apparently they should have sent me an e-mail with a start date. They have not done.
So, I rang the 01604 number as suggested here - the person I spoke to was very friendly, but ultimately useless, telling me what I already knew, then that she didn't have access to the rest of my details, and to call an 0845 number. The 0845 number has been rung, and my details 'apparently' passed on to the person dealing with my area. If they don't get in touch today, I shall repeat this process tomorrow... and so on.
Already feel like screaming, I just need a few weeks work, is it SO much to ask!?

Go on the royal mail website sign into your applications page and the information should be in there as well.

No, just the same 'Hired and Start Date Agreed' message.
I've noticed they've now added it to a list of job offers as well, but clicking 'more information about my job offer' does NOT do exactly what it says on the tin, nothing's been added there since before my assessment.
Looks like I may be ringing back in the morning...

Just below 'Hired and Start Date Agreed' there is something like 'Your Emails'. click on that and you will have all the emails sent out to you. See if there is an email which the subject says 'Offer of Christmas Assignment'. if yes click on the envelop symbol; and you would see the email with your start date on it. All the best.

I am in the same boat - after actually getting through to the Stockport office (after being given at least 5 different wrong numbers, including the Stoke office, ofc on saying "er, that's a Stoke number, is that right? oh yes it'll be fine oh wait it isn't), that said hired message doesn't actually mean you're hired or have been given a start date, more that you're through some stage of the security checks or something, and to wait for a call.

Number I got for Stockport was 01614757905 if you want to avoid being passed around for half an hour

You'd think so, and that's what I've been trying to persuade them - the lack of any e-mail since before my assessment is the problem. Yet I've hit a brick wall in the contact department, ringing yesterday I was told that my details had been passed onto the relevant department, and they'd be in contact 'in due time', but that they were unable to provide me with another number for them... Aaaargh. :arrrghhh

There's no further emails in my Inbox since 30th September (before my interview). My status is "HIRED AND START DATE AGREED".

Regardless of this, I was told to expect a phone call anyway.

Please can someone from Angard at least send a blanket email to everyone who has been chosen for employment with an update as to when we are expected to hear something. The start date I was told at interview is fast approaching and from reading the various posts on this site it seems that there is no firm instructions on what to do. Some people saying ring or you will lose out and others saying hang on and be patient.

All we have on this forum is opinion and to be honest, that is not good enough. Angard - please update us.

I finally got a call with a start date!

Beat - November 28
Beat - Not even first choice shift
Beat - First week is training on reduced hours

So I guess being in the first week's worth of assessments isn't actually that useful

Think I can beat that JT64 !

Had a call yesterday - can you turn up on the 28th and if there's a place for you on the weeks training then you're in. If not, we'll call you again (didn't say when or even when the next lot of training is due). IE. I'm a reserve !

So, if I don't get on the w/c 28th November training then the soonest the next week's can start will be 5th December. Training for a week will bring us to a proper start date of w/c 12th December.

That gives me 10 days work to bring us to Christmas Eve !

So potentially they will train me for a week for 10 days work. If anyone could suggest any appropriate words to describe this then please post them below because I'm speechless !
