It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Is that off IPS or off IPS and prep? If that was my office I'd have been away for about an hour by then

I've just got in from work, today has been a disaster. Almost all cut off, some leaving whole deliveries  .

They got managers from all over to come in and clear the s**t, with bags on shoulder too

Haha, reminds me of a couple of weeks ago now, on a Saturday. Me and van partner were doing one each side, one guy doing the day's packets on "overtime" (at 2pm  ) and a cut off had gone out at 7.30 that morning. FOUR postmen delivering to the same road on the same day

Often's the time when I look out of the wing mirror and see a convoy of rm vans off to do the lasping. 6 vans in a line is a record so far... all on a little piddly street. It's like somekind of rubbish 70s TV ad for breakfast cereal - all the van doors open at the same time and the posties hop out in sync. However I've only ever seen five posties in the same view at one time on the streets. This is the most unprofessional thing I see regularly (I know, I know, there's much worse!). What the residents think I don't know.
