Royal Mail to open new Nuneaton hub

ROYAL Mail will open a new ‘packet hub’ in Nuneaton as it invests an extra £15million to prepare for Christmas.

The company expects to deliver about two billion items in the nation’s festive mailbag this year.

Nuneaton will be home to one of nine temporary ‘packet hubs’ nationwide, which will be used to sort a large number of the parcels and presents before they are delivered to the door.

Director of operations Mark Higson said: “Christmas is the busiest time of year for Royal Mail.

"As every year, we encourage people to post early and order presents early.”
