EAST HULL: Highways officers have been asked to look at improving the parking facilities near a busy Royal Mail collection office.

Councillor Adam Williams has made the request for improved parking to be provided around the office in St Peter Street.

Mr Williams said it comes after concerns from customers.

He said: "This depot is one of the busiest in the city, but has only a very small public car park, with only three spaces.

"As a result, when the depot is busy, many people are having to park further away to collect their parcels."

The depot is surrounded by parking restrictions and double yellow lines.

Mr Williams has contacted the highways department and suggested a limited waiting period of 20 minutes be introduced, so people do not risk a parking fine when collecting from the depot.

He is also writing to the Royal Mail, asking for its support.
