Hello again lads.
As i said in a previous thread, I did the online application,, a also did the face to face interview,, i recieved the formal offer to start in eurocentral taday at 2pm
I didnt recieve any more contact from this proverbial bunch of no users at all after that interview,, no emails,, no text,,No letters.
Yep, It friday the 28th at 4pm that i got a phone call from that bunch,, the guy on the phone asked me if i was still interested in the job,,(ofcourse i was i said),, go to the eurocentral ( old DHL building ) at least 15min before my shift starts. So off John goes (happy as larry because i have a job) i arrived at the place at 1pm today 1 hour before shift starts, i had all my id with me, the only thing i didnt have was any kind of conformation from that "BUNCH" other than the formal job offer given to me at the interview.
I was asked my name and this guy looked at his sheet only to be told my Name wasnt on it, They told me to wait 5 min, on his return i was told they couldnt start me due to health and safety reasons as my name wasnt there.
they told me they would contact me as soon as possible by phone to see what the score is (NO doubt there will be NO comunication i wont hold my breath ).
I am now at home feeling very very down, i dont think ive felt as low since my wife past away.
So just a note to all you hopefull guys looking for Xmass casual work related to (ANGARD piss taking STAFFING) dont build your hopes up to high lads as you may get brought back to earth with a bang.
Something should seriously be done about that mob,, its peoples lives / livelyhood there playing with.

Well I hope it gets sorted for you , as an aside next time you get the phone call get the name and contact number of the team leader or line manager you are to report to so you can call them if you get fobbed off at reception.

utterly shocking mate, i am too waiting for them to contact me for eurocentral(scotland) is this same place as you? but my application on the royal mail site still says processing security checks.

yes m8,, its the same place as me, its the old DHL building on coddington crecent next to sheffield insulations, are you local to it jj ? if you go in from the newhouse end, first roundabout/ turn left / and its on the right hand side 3rd building, they did actualy call me back ( i was surprised ) they said there still looking into it, and will call back tomorow. jj if your local im in holytown m8.
As for security checks,, that will probably change to "security checks passed" mines did anyway, im assuming you had an interview ? did they give you a start date ? mines was today 31st as you can see.

im quite far out, im in clydebank mate but at the interview they said eurocentral would be longer contract( by a month maybe) so i said id drive there but havent heard from them, called them today and they said wait for a letter to come to the house to tell me of a start if i get one, hate the waiting around though

Today 35 eager people turned to start workat Gatwick mail centre.
Only 12 were allowed to start as the remainder did not have security clearance and by the looks of things not all of us will be working this xmas as they have only 25 vacanies.

It is a complete lottery!!!

Well,,,,,,, just got another phone call from angard,, telling me to turn up at eurocentral for a 2pm till 10pm start on the 14th november, same kind of call i recieved the first time i was supposed to start on the 31st oct.
I told the guy the problem i have the first time i turned up for work, but this time he said it would be gauranteed i will be starting and he said i would be sent an email within the next hour.
i await in participation ,, but to be honest im not at all confident in this happening.

The reason why I say this is that I was on the reception desk at our Delivery Office (D.O) for the past few months and nearly

every day had temps/agency staff turning up expecting to work.Some were due to start work with us ,some however were in

the wrong place and should have been at nearby Parcel Force (our sister company ), or at the sorting office which is miles away

from the delivery office. (some offices have the two functions on one site, ours does not )

Most of these temporary staff did not have a contact name or number so it was sometimes difficult to help them.

when i got the phone call this time the number was witheld m8 (for what reasons i dont know), it realy surprising to me why an agency trying to employ you would withhold there number ??.
I asked the caller his name for refference in the event i got turned away a second time, he told me "we dont give out staff names"
so my options were NILL,, after all i couldnt start a brawl over the phone with the agency who are supposedly trying to get me work.
anyway,,, im still awaiting the promised e-mail which hasnt arrived yet,, i was asked the first time i was supposed to start if i recieved an email,,, I didnt recieve one.

John your not alone there! I have had the phantom calls as well and its bloody annoying when your not able to take the call only to find a blocked number called. Angard don't ring you back. Another wheeze it to send text messages, in my case I have asked for only night work as I can't do other times because of other commitments the agent said that this would be noted on my records....still getting texts for day work.

Finally I posted on another thread that I was having problems with a missing shift in my pay. Rang last Friday and emailed...Angard still have not bothered to even acknowledge my email let alone pay me!! I await tomorrows bank balance with anticipation

Mark,, just got an email from angard with the start date also and an attached contract detail's, also got a sms text to my phone fro Royal Mail congratulating me on the job,, so maybe my luck has changed,, but i still wont be very confident untill i go to eurocentral and they actualy hand me my ID pass and tell me to go to work .
I hope all you guy's who are having the same sort of problems as i had get it sorted out soon.

Just got the phonecall, i start next monday, it's not the mail centre i wanted but theres an extra 3 weeks work at this one instead.

It doesn't augur well for the Postal Service , everything seems like it is being done on the cheap and staff being poorly treated

and receiving minimal training if any .A recipe for disaster.
